This Aqua Fox baby quilt is one of my newest; and all of the fabrics are of my own design. Matching crib sheets, crib skirts, and changing pad covers also available!
I spotted my stocking as "Etsy Item of the Day" on the Elf Blog over at northpole.com
I now have newborn size car seat strap covers for those first couple of months when not as much length is needed to reach over baby's shoulders.

About

Bringing My Artist’s Palette To Your Baby’s Nursery

For me it’s all about color . . . the intense, pure color of designer fabric . . . the feel of it in my hands . . . and stitching a well-constructed work of art that adds comfort and interest to a baby's world.

Years ago I worked my way through college as a production sewer in a traditional factory – one shoulder seam after another – all day long – thousands of shoulders – day after day – week after week – on a super fast Merrow machine. . . . and I loved it. I honed every micro-movement of my body until I worked at peak efficiency. I was a smooth running machine – in the flow – a meditation. I found it peaceful and mentally freeing. To this day I carry the knowledge of stitching quality work with speed and efficiency.

After design school I started making quilts for fun. I was a purist - using traditional quilt patterns and no sewing machine - just a needle and a spool of thread. But only one quilt a year was a bit slow, so I revved-up my sewing machine and, with my art and design background, I started designing and creating one-of-a-kind wall quilts, and commissioned wall hangings.

Years later, after raising four fantastic kids, I mixed my love of fabric with my oil-painting-artist-self and, using fabric as my paint, began stitching works of art which I framed and, gosh-forbid, placed behind glass. I opened a small gallery/studio on the main drag through town where one day I decided to make a baby quilt just because I like making stuff for babies. I put it in the window . . . and one thing led to another. I soon found that baby quilts pay the bills so much faster than art. Shortly thereafter I discovered Etsy . . . and here I am . . . loving every minute.

I've recently moved to a large, two room studio within the jutting roofline of a downtown professional building. It’s a space of efficiency, peace, and beauty . . . set up for a smooth work flow, where I am surrounded by good music and designer colors – pure heaven. I send the good vibes out with each of my items - to you and all of your babies.

What’s next for me? Hmm. . . . I’ve been studying fabric design . . . just itching to design my own fabric . . . choose my own colors . . . and stitch it all together for you.

Thanks for all of your compliments, photos, and touching stories - and for being such great customers. I’m honored to play a tiny part in the life of your family.

Frequently asked questions

When will my order ship?

Ready-to-ship items ship within 1-3 days.
Made to Order items ship in 1-3 weeks. Need sooner? contact me.

On your quilts with minky backs do you stitch all 3 layers together, or just the top 2 layers?

I stitch through all 3 layers so my quilts will last many years.
It’s tricky to sew a minky back on a quilt as it stretches and puckers easily. I guarantee my minky backs to be smooth, straight, and free from puckers and stretching. My quilts will still be intact after hundreds of washings.

How do I care for my items?

Wash in cool water on gentle cycle using a non-phosphate detergent.
Dry on low setting.
