Beautiful craftsmanship and wood. The choice of how to join the pieces works well with the grain and is lovely. Had a custom hole cut in it to cradle my phone and will use the shelf as a nightstand in a tight area. Arrived before the estimated ship date. Many thanks.

About

Real Trees || Real Wood || Really Handmade

Justin hails from Bend, OR, where the closeness of the mountains and forest inspires his creativity and appreciation of woodworking. His passion for creating beautiful products from hardwoods is easily seen from a glance around his studio space: experimental products lying on the workbench, neat vertical stacks of wood labeled by species and quality, and of course, a pile of half-finished lamps, shelves, and planters, all waiting for the next step in the process of hand-creation before being shipped out to eager customers. Justin, who is a former Marine Officer and Wildland Firefighter, loves the phase of life he finds himself in, where he works for himself creating his own brand from scratch revolving around his passion of woodworking. He says, "My motivation for woodworking has always been the beauty I find in wood grain. Nowadays, customers seek one-of-a-kind home decor, they aren’t satisfied only with what they find in big box stores. I seek to create unique products that will inspire my customers’ creativity. Fernweh is a German word which means to be homesick for somewhere you've never been. In my mind, it's that feeling you get when you look at a sunset over a mountain range, or look up at a mountain that you're about to climb, knowing you'll be at the top soon. The innate knowledge that there is a beyond.

I hope you enjoy my products as much as I enjoy making them!
