I just made my 2nd purchase of Fian Arroyo’s amazing art. Upon purchase, I received a message from him directly thanking me for my support of his craft as well as remembering when I met him in NC. He is not only a talented artist, but also a beautiful soul. If you’re looking for happy and whimsical pieces for your collection, please visit www.fian.com!

I discovered Fian’s work while on a trip to Asheville. I was immediately drawn to his fantasy art. It invoked feelings of nostalgia for me-of summers I spent as a kid watching movies like Labyrinth, the Dark Crystal, The Last Unicorn or the Dungeons & Dragons cartoon series and even Fraggle Rock. The watercolors are beautiful and vibrant. The subject matter sometimes whimsical with a little bit of darkness to it. I love it all. I have purchased 3 prints of his and they all arrived quickly, well packaged, on high quality paper accompanied with a note of thanks signed by the artist. So you know he is grateful that we appreciate his work. I can’t wait to buy more to add to my collection.

Absolutely perfect! I bought 3 prints, and they were packaged so carefully. I am so impressed with the quality of the print job...kudos to the printers! Obviously I'm in love with the work. What a creative and cool as crap brain. My prints are at the frame shop. I will send a pic when they are done. Amanda

About

It all started with some bad haircuts...

When I was growing up, my mother would butcher my hair with the some pretty bad haircuts. I always wanted to grow my hair out, it seemed like a symbol of freedom and individuality to me. But my mother would have nothing of it. As soon as my hair started to get the slightest bit close to my ears, she would whip out the scissors and electric clippers and cut my hopes for having long hair short. One day as I was sitting on the bathroom counter watching clumps of my hair fall to the floor, while she unskillfully deforested my head, she asked me why I wanted to have long hair. She said as she continued to snip away, "one day you will have to grow up, get a job, have a boss, wear a suit and cut your hair and be like everyone else!" I looked up at her and replied, "one day when I grow up, I'm going to be an artist and have my own business, be my own boss, wear what I want to wear and grow my hair out as long as I want and you won't be able to stop me!" She looked at me and laughed out loud in disbelief. I looked her in the eyes and said "you'll see mom, one day you'll see!"

I owe my mother a lot for what I have accomplished with my art. It was that moment in the bathroom that inspired me and set the wheels in motion to be an artist and to live life on my own terms. She was able to see that before she passed away years ago. Thanx mom!!!

For over 20 years, I have been a freelance commercial illustrator, blessed with the opportunity to create award-winning humor illustrations and character designs for clients, including many Fortune-500 companies, in the advertising, editorial, toy & game and publishing markets. Being primarily influenced by cartoons, comic books and fantasy art, I have always been on the quest to capture the essence of fun and a touch of the surreal in my artwork. Having been working digitally for most of my illustration career, it seems like I've been reunited recently with an old friend, by coming full circle to where it all began...with pen & ink and watercolors. My Etsy shop gives me the chance to share this reunion along with my digital illustrations with everyone else, by offering my fantasy and pop surrealism art as giclee prints and original art.

I am so thankful that people like you take an interest in my work and make it possible for me to support my beautiful wife and two lovely kids with what I love to do. I know my mom would be proud!
