I began making pagan prayer beads around 2017, at a time when I was feeling disconnected from my path and from the spirits and deities in my life. I reasoned that if I was unable to connect as I once had, I would at least create tools to help others to do so. I wish I could tell you that this project instantly worked miracles for me and repaired all of my spiritual relationships, but unfortunately that has been a work in progress. What I can tell you, though, is that the intention to reach out to Them, and making it a habit to do so, matters, and prayer beads are really useful in this work!

Since around 2020, I have mostly settled on using the format of the Catholic rosary for the beads I make, but adapting them for pagan deities. I like the traditional rosary format for two reasons: because the format will be familiar for many people, and because it works. Something about the continual repetition of a short prayer, interspersed with slightly longer prayers, works to calm the mind, relax the body, and open the channels of communication with the divine (in whatever form you experience it).

Prayer is not a tool reserved for Christians alone; pagans have prayed to our deities for millennia, using many different methods, beads being only one of many. But I love beads–the colors, the sparkle, the touch of the stones or wood, and the properties of all of the components. And as a nod to the Catholic-inspired format of these beads, I offer some rosaries for Christians, too!

My beads are created mindfully and completely by hand, in a relaxed atmosphere and only when I am feeling spiritually open to allowing blessings to flow through me into the beads, and to you. All of the components are chosen with intention and intuition guiding me to make the best selections for each deity and each purpose. In addition to being used as a tool for prayer, meditation, or your daily affirmations, they can also be worn as statement jewelry and used to adorn your altar, statues, and sacred space.
