About

carefully made yarns and handwovens

The Fiberrarium is a yarn and fiber collection featuring sustainably sourced hand painted yarn and woven accessories.

Jenna Carls is a maker, weaver, knitter and dyer. She lives cozily in Harrisburg. Jenna holds a BA in American Studies from Northwestern University where she studied pre-industrial women’s work. Inspired by historical textile making, Jenna taught herself to process sheep fleece, dye and spin yarn. While living in Chicago, she gained a keen appreciation for well-made accessories and began designing her own knitwear.

Jenna’s work combines traditional methods with vibrant colors. She uses hand-painted, hand-spun yarn was well as commercially spun fibers.

Visit my studio in-person at The Millworks in Harrisburg, PA where we can have a beer and chat about sheep.

I'm out to make the world a more fun, warmer place. I believe in high-quality practical yarns. My patterns are all either original or significantly adapted from vintage patterns.
All items are hand-made by me in my small smoke-free, pet-free studio in Harrisburg PA. Care instructions are included with package. Handwashing is recommended for most knit and woven items.

Additional policies and FAQs
Currently open to custom orders. Can't do wholesale just now, but I'm open to selling my patterns.

I'm still a few microchips short of being a robot. High quality yarn comes in small batches with some variation. If you need 2 of an item EXACTLY alike, just let me know. I will warp into mechanical mode especially for you!
