Nifty speckly yarn. Pleasant distribution of colors. I look forward to making something with this. Thanks!

Very lovely wool for spinning with a very appropriate name. It's just missing the purple for a full spectrum of carrot colors. I look forward to spinning this up. Thanks!
Fabulous colours, will miss the shop!

Knitter, turned spinner, turned Indie Dyer!
Fibre Forager is a small indie dyeing business based in East Dunbartonshire in Scotland. Zoe Armstrong runs the business and has been a lover of natural fibre and textiles since she can remember. Brought up in an arts and crafts environment, Zoe eventually went to Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and design to study fine art. Throughout her degree she learned felt making and re-learned the knitting skills she had learnt from family members in her youth. Her love of knitting and felting eventually brought her into the world of spinning, which then opened up another new world of hand dyeing fibre.
Zoe is inspired by the colours of nature in the rural area around her, from the moor land within easy walking distance of where Fibre Forager is based, to the Campsie Fell mountain range you can see when walking through the moors. Fresh spring colours from the first flowers that pop up through the ground early in the year and rich autumnal shades are her favourite. Zoe uses Jacquard acid dyes to re-create these colours on the fibre she dyes for Fibre Forager.
Along with the hand dyed combed tops, Fibre Forager also sells hand dyed locks, silk cocoons, silk mawata hankies, silk embroidery thread, drum carded batts and occasionally some hand made items. Combed tops come in a range of one of a kind and consistent colour ways.
Owner, Maker, I Do Everything!
I grew up on the outskirts of Glasgow, next to the countryside. My parents always encouraged art and crafts and doing thing yourself. My business is the result of a lifetimes worth of craft knowledge and inspiration from the landscape around me.
