This elm box is just beautiful - the color and finish of the wood. I never had anything like it. Thank you, Scott!

Welcome to my Etsy Store! I have quite a few items available, hopefully you'll find something of interest.

The most important thing for me is to provide a high quality product. Part of that includes choosing what to do with a particular piece of wood. Some woods have so much character, simple designs are best to show off the natural beauty. Other woods lend themselves to more intricate designs and even carving or other forms of ornamentation.

Once a piece is shaped, the start of the finishing process begins. Sometimes there is as much time sanding a piece as there is in bringing it into shape. The sanding process proceeds from course to very fine sandpaper.

I use a multi stage finishing process where a name brand polyurethane finish is sanded into the wood, allowed to set, then wiped off. After the finial finish stage is applied, the product is hand buffed to a semi-gloss sheen. I believe this process gives a good protection to the wood while allowing the wood itself to seem very natural to the look and touch.

Thanks for stopping by.

Additional policies and FAQs
These wood products were made with care and patience. They are one of a kind and made from locally available woods. No trees were cut down for the harvesting of wood. As with all natural products, changes in moisture where this item is kept could adversely affect it. Color may change with age and exposure to different types of lights. Every step of making this product was with quality in mind.
