A Brief History:
Encaustic Painting or hot wax painting was used by the Greeks as far back as the 5th century B.C.
It was applied as a coating to weather proof their ships. It involves using heating beeswax melted & applied as coating to weatherproof their ships. And later pigment gave rise to the decorating of warships & merchant ships.
The Process:
Hand built in our studio in Roslyn, WA. , these beautiful, one of a kind lamps are made from scratch using inherited 1950's molds.
The Bisque molds are made piece by piece there upon, a glaze is chosen to match meticulously selected vintage fabric and the magic begins.
