Art Inspired by Nature

I'm an artist based in the Smoky Mountains of North Carolina. A love for nature and narrative drives my work. I make linocuts and woodcuts, greeting cards, handmade books, ceramics, paintings, and other home decor. I'm a lover of the outdoors and all things hand-crafted and am delighted to be a member of the Southern Highland Craft Guild.

Printmaking was my first love: I discovered it as an illustrator who wanted to make children's books. The magic of storytelling sucked me in, but the artistry of what comes with making objects by hand is what hooked me for the long haul. I soon began making letterpress-printed editions of handmade books and delighted in making handmade paper and using traditional bookbinding methods to create limited editions.

I work in small editions of books, usually under 50 copies of each. Prints are hand pulled using a letterpress or an etching press—and sometimes using hand tools. As a writer, I've always had a love of storytelling, language, and mythology. I love to seek the wonder. I create both limited editions, open editions, and one of a kind works. For select pieces, I make archival reproductions.

Some of my explorations include painting and ceramics. You'll see those items here in small quantities. Prints and artist books are made in small editions, but I often create open editions of prints and create archival-quality reproductions of some illustrations and paintings. I use premium archival papers, lightfast inks, and other archival materials so that my works will last a lifetime. Many of my artist books are held in special collections libraries across the globe--I create books and art with the idea that they'll long outlive me. :)

I love it when something I've made makes someone else happy. Spreading happiness is I strive to create things that are unique and affordable, and made with the highest quality of materials.

Items in my shop are all handmade, all the time. I also strive to use sustainable materials whenever possible. Most of my products are shipped in compostable or recyclable packaging like rigid cardboard mailers and compostable padded envelopes. I avoid using single-use plastics as much as I can—prints are the one item that are sometimes shipped in cellophane sleeves to ensure they arrive protected from the elements.

Returns and exchange details
If the item arrives damaged, or if I have made a mistake in the order, I will ship you a replacement item at my expense. I will cover shipping charges if the mistake is mine. If any order arrives damaged, you must send me photos of the damaged item (if you can send photos of the damaged packaging, that's even better). I cannot send replacement orders or refunds with no proof of damage.

If the buyer requests a return/exchange/refund for any other reason, I will do the refund/return minus all shipping charges. All shipping will be paid by the buyer except under special circumstances.

I do my best to describe items as accurately as possible. I am happy to provide additional photos or measurements at a buyer's request to ensure the buyer receives the item as expected. If you are unhappy with an item for any reason, please convo me so that we can come to an arrangement. I want all buyers to receive the items they are expecting and be pleased with their purchases.

All returned items must be returned in the original packaging, or in comparable packaging that ensures they come back to me undamaged. Items must be returned within 7 days of buyer's receipt, unless special arrangements have been made. Please notify me before returning any items.
I accept payments through PayPal and by credit card, and happily accept Etsy gift cards. I generally ship within 1-3 business days of receipt of payment. Payment is expected within one week of purchase, but special arrangements can be made on a case-by-case basis.
++Please make sure that your shipping address is up to date on the Etsy site. If an item I ship is returned to me because of an incorrect address provided, the buyer is responsible for the additional shipping charge.

I ship items as quickly as possible after your order, but please check the processing times in each item's listing, since some items take longer to process than others. USPS first class shipping generally takes 3-7 business days to arrive in the continental US, but please be aware that I am not responsible for any shipping delays that occur once USPS has your package en route to you. If you need an item by a certain date, please upgrade to USPS Priority or Priority Express mail and be sure to note the processing time. If you have any questions about shipping by a certain date, feel free to message me before you purchase.

I am happy to combine shipping for multiple items--if you are placing an order with a large quantity, I'm happy to provide a shipping quote and set up a custom order if necessary. For commissions or larger orders, please convo me for an accurate shipping quote. I ship via USPS and include delivery confirmation and tracking numbers for your convenience. I am happy to answer any questions you may have, or use UPS or Fed Ex if the buyer prefers—this will likely increase shipping charges, which the buyer is responsible for.

For international orders, please note that I am not responsible for customs fees or VAT at the destination country. International shipping can sometimes take up to 6 weeks for delivery, depending on your location.

If an item arrives damaged, I'm happy to replace it for you at no charge--you must however, message me and send me a photo that documents the damage within two days of receipt of your order.
