Announcement   I was on Creative Mojo earlier on May 15th talking about fiber and Knit2Go Cards(yay!) and the podcast is now up and archived for anyone who wants to listen. Good show in general - Larry Kirwan from Black 47 was also on. :) http://toginet.com/podcasts/creativemojo/?s=creativemojo

Check out and like the Facebook page ( https://www.facebook.com/FiberObsessions) for coupon codes, updates, and general silliness.

About

It all started at Firaxis...

While I was working at my first industry job at Firaxis, I started to seriously crave knitting with handspun yarns, but was way too poor to afford purchasing them in any large amount or with any kind of regularity. So I figured, hey, why not try making them?

I made a spindle out of some random wood parts I had from game prototyping and set out with some books and youtubage tutelage. Soon I was spinning at the office, much to the confusion and curiostiy of some of the programmers down the hall. I lamented about not being able to afford a wheel yet, and one of them suggested selling spindles to cover the price. Huzzah for practical programmers.

Fiber Obsessions began soon after that, and I sold a fair number of spindles, eventually buying a Kromski Symphony as my first wheel. Since then I've added a Sonata and Harp to my tools.

Years, job changes, and a studio closure later, I've now got an unprecedented amount of free time on my hands to ramp the store up more and offer a wider array of fiber goodies. Let's see how it goes. :)

I'm a game designer by trade, and a freelance author and consultant on the side. Spinning, and fiber crafts in general, keep me sane. And it manages to lovably piss off the DH with mountains of wool, fleeces, and yarn lying around the house. :)
