Announcement   Welcome to FishPond Arts!

I find inspiration in the nature and creatures around me, especially those that live where land and water meet. Our coasts are rich but fragile habitats worth protecting for future generations. All my work plays on coastal themes and explores the diversity of life surrounding them.

I love creating original, one-of-a-kind decorative and art objects, and all my work is handmade in my studio in New Castle, Delaware--which, appropriately enough, looks out over the Delaware River. Call me for custom orders or to discuss ideas!

For more about my art, as well as nature photography and picture books for children, check out my website: www.CreativeAnimal.net.

Go outside and play!

About

Love of Nature, Creatures and Color

I've been obsessed (in a good way, I promise!) with animals and nature since I was a child. Visiting grandparents in Pittsburgh, I never had enough time to look at everything in the Carnegie Museum of Natural History, and could spend hours amid the dinosaurs, reptiles and other creatures. I'm a dedicated animal-lover with a soft spot for senior citizen cats . . . and, if forced to give a true confession, I'll admit sometimes I still enjoy nothing more than wading in a stream to find crayfish or salamanders.

Art and creativity has also been around me from a very early age--it runs in the family, and some of my earliest childhood memories include modeling clay, colored pencils and plaster molds. Anything to get my hands active and dirty and I'm happy!

So, take this mix of elements and add to it my location, along the Delaware River in New Castle, Delaware, and I can't help but be inspired. An endless supply of driftwood, constant inspiration from bird and animal life, a dynamic changing environment, and perhaps an animal muse or two.

My shop is a combination of my passions and the desire to share the fascinating variety of nature with others.

Thanks for looking, and GO PLAY OUTSIDE!

I grew up in Western Pennsylvania obsessed with animals. I spent hours in the Carnegie Museum of Natural History in Pittsburgh, played in woods and streams, and even took taxidermy correspondence courses. My passion for nature fuels my work.

Welcome to FishPond Arts. Thanks for stopping by my shop, and I hope you enjoy browsing this selection of creature art and decorative items. They're meant to spark appreciation of the birds and animals around us. And then, I encourage you to go outside and play (because I always encourage people to get out in nature and enjoy!).

I'm inspired by nature, by animal life of all kinds, and like to reuse material like seashells and driftwood whenever possible. Why let good wood go to waste?

Additional policies and FAQs
I am always happy to do custom orders. If you have an idea, email or convo me and let's talk. I do any kind of animal, and can work with you on your request. My process for custom orders is to do a draft image for customer approval if the object is a painting on wood panel. For driftwood pieces, I'll be in touch with images of boards currently available before any initial drafts begin.
