I was thankful to be able to purchase this pattern. I had it already, but somehow had lost one of the main pieces. Pattern came quickly and new.

Sewing as therapy -- Sewing for fun
I became interested in starting a sewing related business after I had a baby. I had worked for many years in the advertising industry where the hours were long, but the camaraderie was high. I started sewing with a group of women at retreats and regularly at a women's club, hoping to regain some of the fun and fellowship that I had enjoyed so much in advertising. This led to starting a small traveling store where I sold notions, fabrics and thread at our regular sewing retreats.
I began sewing more projects in the quilting & home decorating category and fewer clothes during this time – mainly so that I didn't have to concentrate and think about following detailed instructions, and could 'just sew'. This became so therapeutic and relaxing, that I wanted to develop simple patterns for these fun, social sewing gatherings. The Quillow pattern was born, based on my good friend Mona Hobson's design.
Our sewing group – loosely referred to as the 'Fresh Blades' – became a hub of activity for show-and-tell, potluck dinners, shoulders to cry on, sewing 'genius' help, UFO completion and many worthwhile charity sewing projects.
If you want to put a smile on someone's face, make a quillow or rag quilt (quick, easy and fun) as an unexpected surprise. I highly recommend it. You will reap the rewards of having done something nice for someone — and you will be remembered for it.
I hope you, my Etsy customers, also have the good fortune of sewing with friends and sewing for therapy. And, most important, I hope you make time in your life to JUST SEW! Thank you so very much and...
