I love designing and sewing with fleece.
I started playing with polyester fleece (once referred to as Polar Tech fleece, or Polar Fleece) over twenty years ago, when it first became available. I have been a seamstress and designer for many years, and love how easy it is to work with this fabric. I love the beautiful, bright colors and patterns, and how soft, warm and comfortable fleece is to wear. The fabric has actually improved greatly in quality in the last ten years, and maybe because of the large supply of recycled plastic that is used to make much of it, hasn't gone up in price in several years.
I have been sewing since I was a little girl, and went to FIT in NYC back in the 80's and have a degree in Fashion Design. I sew on a commercial Bernina 950, and a commercial Yamata serger. I love old sewing machines and have several old Singers, a Pfaff, and a Viking. I enjoy making patterns as well as sewing, and when I'm not working on my latest fleece designs, I make custom couture clothing for a few select private clients, and sometime do custom interiors for a few interior designers.
In April, 2017 I was selected by WESST, a local nonprofit that helps small businesses, as their "Spotlight on Success" story for their newsletter. I am honored, as WESST provides tangible, affordable services to many different small businesses here in Santa Fe, NM. I started my Etsy shop through a class I took with WESST in the Spring of 2015, and have taken many classes and workshops with them over many years.
I am very fortunate to be able to work from my home, and be surrounded with my family, pets, and garden. My workroom is pet-free, in hopes of keeping things clean. I design and make everything I sell, and am very proud of the quality of my work. If you have any questions or comments, please contact me. I'd love to hear from you.
