Flowerleaf Studio. Bohemian and Victorian Jewelry with a Modern Twist. Hand Painted Original Art.

About my shop:

I opened my Flowerleaf shop in May of 2009, began creating and selling my cottage chic repurposed Scrabble rings in 2010, and have since then sold over 400 of these rings in various designs and shades. They remain one of my top-selling items and I have been given the privilege of having them featured in Belle Armoire Jewelry Magazine (Winter 2015), as well as Handcrafted Jewelry Magazine (2012).

Here at Flowerleaf Studio, you will find boho chic and vintage inspired jewelry and art with a modern twist: necklaces, earrings, bracelets, unisex necklaces with found items, as well as hand crafted wood and brass rings and miniature art.

For those with allergies to various metals:

I now carry surgical steel earring components for those with allergies to specific metals. Message me and we can work out a custom listing.

Please make sure to read my policies before making your purchase!

Thanks!!

Treasuries like this one make me miss seeing them showcased as they once were. My "Chocolate Mint" ring is featured here and the whole collection is just so beautiful!

New necklace that contains beads I have been holding onto for a long while. I love the combo of the dark beads with the bright copper!

Brand new necklace that I made during a lull at a local flea market. Love the vintage beads in this necklace!

About

A Juxtaposition of Things Old and New - Jewelry-Style...

People often ask me, "…what is a Flowerleaf? Does a flowerleaf actually exist?" I tell them this: A flowerleaf is what you get when you are somewhat literal when it comes to titling your artwork. That's how it was for me in college. I once drew a charcoal still life drawing of a rock, a pine cone, and a white block and ended up giving the drawing the title "A Rock, a Pine Cone, and a White Block." Such was the case for another drawing I completed in one of my classes. I put a bunch of items from my room together and drew a leaf, a dried yellow rose, a journal, and something else I can't recall, but I ended up not liking the piece as a whole and cropped the drawing - so all that was left was the flower and the leaf. I ended up combining "flower" and "leaf" for the title of the drawing and the rest is, as many people say, "history."

The story behind the name "Flowerleaf" is very fitting for my shop because not only do I love nature and use a lot of leaves, flowers, owls, but I love to take one thing and put it together with other things to create something new and interesting. I still manage to title some of my pieces very literally, but I am branching out of that a bit more each year.

So there it is. I am random, eclectic, love to try new things, and I can't create anything without music playing in the background.

I have a pretty silly/random sense of humor, which hardly ever reveals itself in my artwork, but sometimes my quirky nature sneaks out. For the most part, I just love taking old things and mixing them with new things and working with Scrabble tiles.
