MI FASE DE ORUGA
Empecé Flutter Statement Jewelry en 2012 creando joyas en mi habitación, quedándome despierta hasta las 5 de la mañana haciendo cuentas y cosiendo mientras compaginaba mi trabajo como editora de artículos en la revista Metro Society. No dormía, pero estaba profundamente enamorada de lo que hacía. Estaba profundamente enamorada de lo que sucedía en aquella época, cuando era la época dorada del milenio de la moda y los medios, y todo el mundo lucía collares babero y bisutería artesanal como si fueran arte andante. Los fines de semana, me encontraba en modo rudo yendo a pueblos antiguos, a mercados callejeros o viajando al extranjero para explorar callejones escondidos y edificios deteriorados en busca de mi tesoro de piedras semipreciosas y cuentas para usar en mis joyas. Estaba literalmente inquieta, pero despierta con la pasión, los sueños y la creatividad corriendo por mi torrente sanguíneo.
NUESTRA METAMORFOSIS
Empecé a vender mis piezas en Facebook por aquel entonces y, con la ayuda de amigos y gente increíble del sector, mi primer lote se agotó. Así que, con alegría, empecé a participar en bazares y ferias comerciales. Con el tiempo, la demanda creció y tuve la enorme suerte de conocer a personas clave que me ayudaron muchísimo. Empecé contratando a un artesano para que me ayudara a hacer mis joyas, luego a dos, luego a tres, y así sucesivamente... hasta que finalmente conseguimos nuestro propio estudio en Poblacion, Makati, en 2014, porque nuestra casa parecía un circo. Empezamos a atender a clientes B2B, abasteciendo a elegantes boutiques y consumidores finales en el mercado estadounidense y europeo, así como en países como Singapur. Con el tiempo, nos hicimos miembros de la Confederación de Exportadores de Filipinas (PHILEXPORT). También fue entonces cuando empezamos a fabricar nuestras icónicas joyas corporales, que consiguieron nuestra primera portada en la Semana de la Moda de Nueva York de 2015.
EL EFECTO MARIPOSA
A lo largo de su trayectoria, nuestras joyas artesanales han sido lucidas por celebridades de Hollywood como la artista de R&B Jennifer Lopez, Ashanti, Pia Mia y Serayah McNeill en la serie de Fox, Empire. Nuestras piezas se ven en videos musicales y pasarelas como la Semana de la Moda de Nueva York y la Semana de la Moda de Londres, así como en revistas de moda como Vogue, ELLE y Harper's Bazaar. También han aparecido en las páginas de nuestras revistas locales y han sido lucidas por celebridades e influencers locales.
ADORNANDO A LAS CHICAS FLUTTER
Me encantan mis relaciones entre empresas porque han mantenido mi negocio activo y dinámico, pero mi pasión sigue siendo conectar con la gente: conocer a otros artistas, amantes del arte y entusiastas de la moda que comparten nuestra visión y vibran con nosotros. Soy introvertida y mi voz está en mi trabajo, mi arte y mis joyas, cosas que quiero compartir profundamente con la gente para siempre.
DÍAS DE CAPULLO OSCURO
En 2019, antes de la pandemia de COVID, caí en una profunda depresión y me refugié en la soledad. Fue allí donde aprendí a canalizar mis intensas emociones hacia mi trabajo de joyería y terminé creando mis cinco colecciones favoritas de todos los tiempos: Carnival, Dollhouse, Cuckoo Clock, Sunny Bali y Around The World. Estas colecciones son muy importantes para mí porque extraje todos mis recuerdos, desde la infancia hasta la edad adulta, al crearlas. Además, aquí fue donde fui pionera en nuestros pendientes tridimensionales. Así que, mientras el mundo estaba en pausa debido a la pandemia, mi equipo y yo estábamos en el estudio día por medio calculando medidas y haciendo rondas de prueba y error. La pandemia fue mi despertar creativo y fue entonces cuando aprendí a poner más de mi alma en Flutter.
REVOLTEANDO DE NUEVO
En 2022, me sentí eufórica cuando Flutter apareció en la valla publicitaria de Times Square en Nueva York, como adelanto de la Semana de la Moda de Nueva York 2022, donde nuestros pendientes de paraguas 3D Sunny Bali, entre otros, desfilaron por las pasarelas. Sentí un profundo dolor al ver cómo Flutter se convertía en una hermosa historia, volviendo a volar en lugares con los que solo había soñado, desde Nueva York hasta las Semanas de la Moda de Londres y Budapest, todo con la ayuda de una hermosa diseñadora, quien también nos ayudó a vender nuestras piezas en esos lugares.
FLUTTER UNA Y OTRA VEZ
En 2023, volví a tropezar, hice una pausa para sanar y, en 2025, me levanté de nuevo. Y aquí estoy. Creando nuevos diseños, explorando nuevos horizontes y dándole un toque creativo a mis joyas. He fusionado mi trayectoria como artista visual y diseñadora de joyas con exposiciones que muestran tanto mis pinturas como mis joyas, destacándolas como arte para llevar. Aquí comparto que Flutter no es solo una marca, es la historia de mi vida, auténtica hasta la médula y llena de transformación. Porque aquí no solo creamos joyas, sino que construimos un legado.
REVOLANDO EN FILIPINAS
Nos fabricamos en Filipinas y nuestra marca resalta el legado de la artesanía con cuentas y la cultura artesanal que ha aportado tanta belleza a nuestro país, que una vez fue la Perla de los Mares de Oriente. Esta es nuestra tierra de eterno verano, y el espíritu de Flutter está aquí. Me encanta.

MY CATERPILLAR PHASE
I started Flutter Statement Jewelry in 2012 with me making jewelry in my bedroom, staying up until 5am beading and sewing while juggling my work as features editor in Metro Society magazine. I was sleepless, but I was deeply in love with what I was doing. I was deeply in love with what was happening during that time, when it was the golden millennial age of fashion and media, and everyone was sporting bib necklaces and handmade costume jewelry like walking art. On weekends, I’d be on rugged mode going to old towns, to backstreet markets or travelling abroad to explore hidden alleys and weathered buildings to score my treasure trove of semiprecious stones and beads to use for my jewelries. I was literally restless, but awake with passion, dreams and creativity coursing through my bloodstream.
OUR METAMORPHOSIS
I started selling my pieces on Facebook at that time and with the help of friends and amazing people in the industry, my first batch sold out. So I happily began joining bazaars and trade shows. Eventually, demand grew and I was extremely fortunate to meet some key people who really helped me out. I started hiring one artisan to help me make my jewelries, and then two, then three and so on.. until we finally got our own studio in Poblacion, Makati in 2014 because our house was looking like a circus. We started catering to business-to-business consumers, supplying to stylish boutiques and end consumers in the US and European market, as well as countries like Singapore. We eventually earned our membership in (PHILEXPORT) Philippine Exporters Confederation Inc. It was also the time that we started making our iconic body jewelries, which landed our first New York Fashion Week cover in 2015.
THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT
Along the way, our handcrafted statement jewelries have been worn by Hollywood celebrities like R&B Artist Jennifer Lopez, Ashanti, Pia Mia, and Serayah Mcneill in Fox’s TV Series, Empire. Our pieces are seen in music videos, and runways like the New York Fashion Week and London Fashion Week, and glossies like Vogue, ELLE, and Harper’s Bazaar. It has also appeared on the pages of our local magazines and has been worn by local celebrities and influencers too.
ADORNING FLUTTER GIRLS
I love my business-to-business relations because they have kept my business pumped and hustling, but my passion still remains that of connecting with people—meeting fellow artists, art lovers, and fashion enthusiasts who share our vision and match our vibe. I am introverted and my voice is in my work, my art, and my jewelries, things that I want to deeply share to people forever.
DARK COCOON DAYS
In 2019 upto the Covid pandemic, i fell into heavy depression and went into solitude. It was there that i learned to channel my intense emotions to my jewelry work, and ended up creating my five all-time favorite collections—Carnival, Dollhouse, Cuckoo Clock, Sunny Bali and Around The World Collections. These collections sit close to my heart because i extracted all my childhood to adult memories into making them. On top of that, this is where i pioneered our three-dimensional earrings. So while the world was at pause because of the pandemic, me and my team were in our studio every other day calculating measurements and doing rounds of trial and error. The pandemic was my creative re-awakening and it was then that i learned to put more of my soul into Flutter.
FLUTTERING AGAIN
In 2022, i was over the moon when Flutter landed in the New York Times Square billboard, as a teaser for New York Fashion Week 2022 where our Sunny Bali 3D umbrella earrings, among our other earrings, graced the runways. I felt my heart ache as I watch Flutter turn into a beautiful story, fluttering again in places I only ever dreamed of before—from New York, to London and Budapest Fashion Weeks, all with the help of a beautiful fellow designer, who also helped us sell our pieces in these places.
FLUTTER AGAIN AND AGAIN
In 2023, I stumbled again, went on a healing hiatus, and then in 2025 I stood up again. So here I am. Making new designs, fluttering to new places, and putting a new creative twist to my jewelries. I have merged my journey both as a visual artist and jewelry designer by having art exhibits that showcase both my paintings and jewelries, highlighting them as wearable art. Here I share that Flutter is not just a brand, it is actually my life story, truest to its core, and alive with transformation. Because here, we are not just making jewelries, we are building memory lane.
FLUTTERING IN THE PHILIPPINES
We are made in the Philippines, and our brand spotlights the legacy of beadwork and hand craftsmanship culture that has helped bring so much beauty to our country that was once the world's Pearl of The Orient Seas. This is our land of eternal summer, and the spirit of Flutter is here. I so love it here.
