Flyandance

I have ordered multiples of these. This review is part one: it arrived really fast, well packed, all part accounted for - including the neon tubes. I am very pleased. I will assemble one myself and another kit is a prize for my developer team for an event in a few weeks. I will post a review for the actual assembly as soon as I put it all together. Beautiful kit so far.

Fun kit! This is my third high-voltage kit from Flyandance and they have all been so fun to build. I used a yellow bulb in the middle rather than the provided green one, and switched the power receptacle from micro-USB to USB-C just because I had one available, but otherwise followed all the directions and it works great. Mine has a slight whine from the inductor if that’s something that bothers you, but it’s not Flyandance’s fault, they just do that sometimes. As usual, the SMDs were very helpfully labelled/organized and most had a couple extra included just in case, which is VERY appreciated for times like when you accidentally put an NPN in the MOSFET spot and then annihilate it while removing. Hypothetically. Thank you!!

Board is well-made and well-designed, the diagrams/schematic are very helpful. Some of the components have a couple extra included which is great, because I definitely flung at least two resistors across the room to be lost forever. Very cool kit for people with intermediate-level soldering skills.
