¡Hola! Soy un profesional creativo con una pasión por el diseño convincente. Comencé Flying Pinwheel porque me estaba divirtiendo mucho diseñando invitaciones de cumpleaños para mi hija pequeña, basadas en un "tema" que ella sugirió. Yo: "¿Qué tipo de fiesta de cumpleaños te gustaría?" Niño de casi dos años: "¡Helado!" Y así, su festiva, pero no exagerada, segunda fiesta de cumpleaños giró en torno a su golosina helada favorita. Ciertamente no podría quejarme de la posibilidad de una doble primicia.
Un objetivo importante de Flying Pinwheel es conectar las invitaciones y otros diseños con la lectura. Mi actividad favorita para hacer con mis hijas es compartir un buen libro. Si están interesados en el helado, leamos ¿Debo compartir mi helado? por Mo Willems. ¿Fascinado por las mariquitas? ¡Echemos un vistazo a I Love Bugs! por Filemón Sturges. ¿Trenes? ¿Qué tal Locomotora de Brian Floca? Descubrí que mis niños pequeños representaban historias que leíamos juntos y hacían conexiones con situaciones de la vida real. Me encanta encontrar formas creativas de conectar los libros con sus intereses y provocar juegos imaginativos y un amor por la lectura. Hello! I’m a creative professional with a passion for compelling design. I started Flying Pinwheel because I was having so much fun designing birthday invitations for my young daughter, based on a “theme” she suggested. Me: “What kind of birthday party would you like?” Almost-two-year old: “Ice cream!” And so her festive, yet not-over-the-top second birthday party revolved around her favorite icy treat. I certainly couldn’t complain about the chance for a double scoop.
An important goal of Flying Pinwheel is to connect the invites and other designs to reading. My absolute favorite activity to do with my daughters is to share a good book. If they are interested in ice cream, let’s read Should I Share My Ice Cream? by Mo Willems. Fascinated by ladybugs? Let’s check out I Love Bugs! by Philemon Sturges. Trains? How about Locomotive by Brian Floca. I found my toddlers would act out stories we read together and make connections to real life situations. I love finding creative ways to connect books to their interests and spark imaginative play and a love for reading. So don’t be surprised to find book suggestions paired with all Flying Pinwheel designs. I encourage you to take your child to your local library and let yourselves be swept away by the magic that can only be found inside the pages of a book (or two, or three, or fifteen!).
