Chinese Calligraphy Digital Handwriting: A New Artistic Horizon for Modern Brushwork

Chinese calligraphy has a centuries-old cultural heritage. It is traditionally bound to ink and rice paper. Today, with the advancement of digital tools, Procreate offers a modern twist to this timeless craft, blending tradition with innovation.

My name is Ting, the calligrapher and shop owner of Focal Notes. I am a Chinese native speaker; born and raised in Taiwan. The four major reasons I started writing Chinese calligraphy with Procreate are:
● Vivid Colors, Diverse Styles: Break free from the monotony of ink and paper. With Procreate's vibrant color palette, I can create calligraphy that reflects my unique style.
● Redefining Tradition: Merge digital technology with the timeless beauty of calligraphy to breathe new life into traditional aesthetics.
●Limitless Creativity: Whether practicing characters, designing fonts, or creating digital decorations, the possibilities are endless.
● Effortless Sharing: Once the work is complete, export and share it with ease, spreading the beauty of calligraphy far and wide.

Ultimately, I'm trying to combine the cultural depth of traditional calligraphy with the versatility of digital art, and hopefully to transform an ancient practice into something fresh and appealing for today’s world.
