How I got the foggiest notion.

Many years ago my son was in a class in elementary school that was hosting a Japanese student teacher. We were working on a project of making paper cranes. One night she died suddenly of an aneurism. It was devastating to my son, the whole class, and obviously her family. The class decided to make 1000 paper cranes to give to her family when they arrived. It was amazing what we did with the paper. It was soothing to the children and parents alike. The heap of cranes was pretty impressive and gave the children a sense of doing something. I had not worked with paper before that really and wrapping a gift was sort of a challenge. A flat piece of paper has so many possibilities. Foggy tries to counteract entropy and make pretty things with the paper. It is enjoyable. All my mini envelopes are hand cut, boxes I use a die cutting contraption.

Foggiest Notions comes about from a lifetime of hearing "I haven't the foggiest notion" okay from saying "I haven't the foggiest notion. Now I have the foggiest notion and you can to! Does that sound a bit like an infomercial. No really does it?

Foggy likes the challenge of precision paper cutting and forming. I am a staff of one and this cuts (no pun intended) down on the criticism immensely of my staff.
The Scissors

These are THE scissors. They were my Great Grandmother's, Elodie Dobbelaere, and they are huge. Oddly they are much easier to cut precisely with than smaller newer scissors. I can cut a perfect circle freehand with these babies. I think.
