Announcement   FolcloreGifts is a Portuguese brand producing home accessories and laptop accessories with eco friendly Portuguese traditional supplies as cork and felted wool fabric.

We work with a heighten awareness for sustainability, only choosing natural materials.

In our lap desks, cork is used in the tray and in the filling, made from a cork by-product. It is hypoallergenic, anti-bacterial and protected against fungus or mites. It is organic and very comfortable! Our lap trays are handmade of Portuguese cotton fabrics, some of them using traditional patterns.

A traditional felted pure wool fabric, burel, coming from our mouintains, is used in the iPad and iPhone cases and valet trays.

From Portugal with love...

I was a teacher of "grown up" students for 15 years… And then my life changed... Needles changed my life with the project "agulha não pica" - needle does not prick - my other etsy sop...

With the needles and following Portuguese traditional embroidery I’ve found out much about Portugal which moved me in every product I’ve shaped.

Discovering Portuguese crafts I came across traditional materials that surprised me and encouraged me to reinvent applications for its use.

Soon I met cork and although I cannot say it is mutual, I have a big crush on it… The first outcome of this passion was the worldonlap lap tray, or lap desk, 100% Portuguese, just cork and cotton. It really seems we have the world on our lap...

Burel - a traditional Portuguese felted wool fabric highly resistant and compact - was a more recent discovery, but a very inspiring one, used in the capuchas, our beautiful laptop cases.

Then came the valet trays... And, lately, more products that bring these materials to the kitchen and the table...

It is the desire to (re)create ways of being sustainably Portuguese that moves me, always inspired by the charm of the little things ...

Many fruits of the mind and heart is my wish for everyone!

“mundaocolo” is a Portuguese brand with a heighten awareness for sustainability (that uses only national products such as cork, a genuinely sustainable and Portuguese product by excellence.
When the bark of a cork-oak tree is harvested, the tree is not damaged and a new layer of cork grows back slowly during the following nine years before it gets harvested again. Thus, cork use does not endanger the cork-oak tree and it continues to grow and to produce more cork, allowing it to continue to absorb carbon dioxide while preserving the montado (a cork-oak field. ecosystem -

Shipping
Shipping will be assured by Portuguese Postal Service, CTT, and will be made no later than one week after the payment is received on our bank or PayPal account. A Tracking number will be assigned to your order, let us know if you want to be informed about it.
We'll inform you when the order is shipped.
If for any reason your order cannot be shipped within this time frame, we will contact you

Shipping costs depend on the number of lap trays purchased (weight) and destination. If it is cheaper we can send more than one article in a package.

We are not responsible for undelivered, misdelivered, undeliverable packages, or packages that are damaged or destroyed in transit.

Note: International shipping will generally take 5-12 business days. If you experience a longer delay, it is possible that it is being delayed because of customs. Any fees connected with customs will be the responsibility of the purchaser and will not be refunded.
