Absolutely gorgeous. Leather is very well done; as in heavy duty yet soft and supple, with a suede-like quality to it. Color is like an antique black that is almost dark chocolate brown---very rich and deep in appearance. Buckle is thick and solid, as are the rivets. These will last for ages. Underlining has the fur attached and can even be separated for use under other vambraces too(!). Don't hesitate to pick them up if you already have the matching fur mantle or leggings.... or even if you don't!

Large and in charge. These are the mantles for the chieftain. If you're a big fellow definitely go for these. The leather belt/strap is a very nice touch too (great quality leather with the antique decorative buckle and rivets). As for the hair, Northern Wolf is a beautiful fur that is long and soft to the touch. Black Wolf is more wiry and wild looking in texture.

About

Leatherwork & Costumes >> Handcrafted in the USA

Thank you for visiting our shop!
'Folk of the Wood' is a small family run business, based in central Indiana. Our goal is to provide our customers with quality costumes, accessories & unique custom pieces. We work with genuine leather & quality fabrics, bringing our historical inspired & fantasy designs into reality. We have a deep fascination with history, and love bringing it back to life! Our name is inspired by all ‘Robin Hoods’, medieval woodsman and folk from back in the day…
We are happiest when creating - whether it’s a Renaissance dress, a piece of leather Viking armor, or making a one-of-a-kind commissioned piece.
Our work has been sent all over the world – one of our favorite parts is seeing the pictures and hearing the stories of where our work ends up.
Everything you see here was handcrafted by us, in our Indiana studio. When you place an order with us, you are directly supporting a small business, and the livelihoods of two artists who love what they do. Thank you for supporting handmade!
