Love at first sight. The floral fabric with the beautiful vintage embroidered trim is so lovely. Sewn with perfection and I love how the trim matches and enhances the gown fabric. So happy I made this purchase.

About

"Not of an age, but for all time!" Ben Jonson (1623)

My goal is to create doll clothes and accessories that are special enough to be passed on for at least another generation.

Opening this Etsy shop brings a lot of threads in my life together -- my love of vintage clothing (especially hats!), fabric, lace, linens and trim, as well as costume design. I also love the idea of recycling/upcycling/repurposing old clothing, linens and fabric -- I just cut around the imperfections!

I am involved in every aspect that goes into creating my special doll outfits and accessories -- searching for vintage trims and fabrics at estate sales, flea markets and thrift shops, shopping for new fabrics, trims and patterns, laundering all of these items, felting the wool, designing the outfits, cutting out the pieces, sewing them, photographing the completed outfit and shipping them out! I also enjoy working directly with customers to come up with a custom item, sometimes using special fabric supplied by them.

Jasper, our "Giant Maltese" and shop mascot, keeps me company, tells me when it's time to eat or take a break and soaks up the sun (when there is some) in my workroom.

My design process is very simple: First, I settle on a "starting point" -- which can be a pattern that I haven't used before, a new fabric that I want to make something with, a particular trim or vintage linen or garment that I want to use. The design then evolves from there -- a different trim works better, another fabric works well as a contrast. Sometimes I have to admit that the original idea doesn't work and I start again or I realize the outfit needs something else to complete it -- perhaps a piece of jewelry, a hat, or a shawl. The final, finished outfit almost always differs from what I had originally planned. Because the design process differs from item to item, I like to include more specific details in the actual listing.

I've recently discovered Pinterest and have created a few "Inspirations" Boards to collect ideas for future outfits and projects. If you'd like to see what I might be making in future, check it out: pinterest.com/andrealuciano

Shipping
Actual delivery time will depend on the shipping method you choose. Delivery time for "Made to Order" items are individually negotiated.

Please contact me if you are interested in purchasing multiple items so I can calculate the accurate shipping costs for you.

I am sorry to say that the USPS has increased postage rates for packages again, effective January 17, 2016 (domestic and international) -- so I have had to raise my shipping costs for all of my Shipping Profiles. For International Customers, I am particularly sorry to say that the USPS has not only significantly increased international postal rates, but has created two weight categories: 1-8 ounces and 9 ounces to 2 lbs. I hope they reconsider this decision, but until then, I am unable to include international postage rates in my listings. I apologize for the inconvenience, but all international customers interested in purchasing an item from my shop will have to contact me for the shipping costs to your country.

In the USA -- I ship every week day, sometimes even the day of your order for ready-made items. All packages are sent USPS First Class or Priority, depending on the size of the shipment. Shipping includes tracking and I will send you the tracking number when I notify you that I have shipped your package. Please let me know if you would like expedited shipping.

For International Customers --at this time USPS First Class postage, tracking and insurance are available for the following countries only: Australia; Belgium; Canada; Croatia; Estonia; Finland; Germany; Hungary; Israel; Latvia; Lithuania; Malaysia; Malta; the Netherlands; New Zealand; Singapore; Spain; Switzerland; and the United Kingdom. For all other countries, tracking is only available if I ship USPS Priority, which is very, very expensive.

For all International Customers -- the buyer is responsible for all international customs charges. Also, I fill out customs forms honestly, with the true value of the shipment. Generally, international delivery time on ready made items should be about 2 weeks, but there may be delays due to customs (which are out of my control).
Refunds and Exchanges
Although I hope that everyone will be delighted with their purchases, I will accept returns if you contact me within 14 days of delivery and you ship the item back to me within 30 days.

Once I receive the item, I will refund the full purchase price (including the original shipping costs). If the item is not returned in its original condition, however, you will be responsible for any loss in value. Return shipping costs are the buyer's responsibility.
Additional policies and FAQs
