Announcement   Welcome to Forest Hollow. All that you see in my shop has been designed and hand made by myself. I love working with Sterling and Argentium Silver. My hope is that you will find a special piece in my collection and choose to make it a part of your own to keep or give as a wearable keepsake. I take pride in making my own findings and closures and selecting top grade stones and gems as well as crystals and glass. I will use other artist's beads and marbles when ever possible because I firmly believe in supporting each other. Thank you for looking and being a part of the new small business support group! If you'd like to know more about my work and my husband's pottery please go to Foresthollow.blogspot.com.

About

A Passion for Silver and Stones

I actually began Forest Hollow as a physical shop situated next to our home in the Adirondacks. My husband and I started the shop by turning our wood shed into a great little space for the results of our continual creative process. Because we are so isolated in the mountains we weren't sure if anyone would find us, but after 20+ years we found we have a wonderful patronage. We close during the many months of deep snow here and therefore decided to try a shop on Etsy. Success! What a wonderful way to reach out to people who love the "one of a kind" pieces.
My feeling each time I create a piece is excitement. Excitement knowing someone will have this creation to pass down through the ages and love will continue through generations. I wore my Mom's wedding dress to be married in and it's meant so much to me that I did. How many times do couples share an heirloom wedding ring handed down from generations before them. A well designed and crafted piece of jewelry made from precious metals and stones will always be of greater value than "commercially made by the millions" jewelry.
I began my journey as a painter and although I still paint and exhibit my work, I have found
myself in a metal studio more and more these days. My style of painting has always included a bit of whimsy and fun and I believe that same style has found its way into my jewelry designs. When I'm not using marbles or vintage spoons or porcupine quills I'm looking for new materials to add the "uniqueness" I want to express. The more serious pieces seem to have the simplicity and geometric quality of the Art Deco period. Sometimes I think that's where my creative spirit found it's beginnings!
Thank you for taking the time to read this and getting to know me.

I've been a silversmith for many years and I still feel that I am learning my craft. I've been a High School Art teacher for most of my adult life and upon retiring from education I found myself steadily engaged in my craft.

Welcome to Forest Hollow Jewelry and thank you for shopping with me. My work has been evolving for many years and I take great pride in my workmanship and creativity. Your purchase, regardless if its for yourself or for another, will continue to last through the ages because it is well made of the highest quality materials. I use only solid sterling or argentium silver and my designs are my own. I don't create production jewelry and if a design is repeated it will always be slightly altered in some way so it retains its own unique quality. I strive for a good rapport with my customers and want them to know they have only one of a kind from an artist that they can communicate with.

Accepted payment methods

Payment
Payment must be made in full and must clear before item is shipped out. I primarily accept Paypal.
Shipping
My orders ship by USPS and generally takes a week when shipping domestically. I insure and package my work for a safe arrival in as short a time as possible.
Refunds and Exchanges
I will always record ring sizes on my site. If you are not sure of your ring size or bracelet size, please feel free to contact me and I will be happy to help you determine your size. Refunds or exchanges must be arranged upon receipt and I will work with you as best as I can. All exchanges must be shipped back to me within 7 days of receipt and should be sent back insured. If you do not insure the item, I cannot be responsible for it in any way in transit.
Additional policies and FAQs
I'm sorry I don't take custom orders. I think that comes from being an art teacher for many years and having to take "orders" everyday! Sterling and Argentium silver can be polished with a jeweler's cloth and as long as it does not contain a stone it can be cleaned with silver polish. I only use stones from lapidarists and hand pick them for my designs. If you see a piece you'd like to buy on "foresthollow.blogspot.com, please contact me and if it is still available I will be happy to reserve it for you.
All of my designs and works are copyright Foresthollow. If you wish to use my works in any way, please contact me for permission before doing so. Thank you.
