Foret's Shop Policies
I love a happy customer, so I like to keep things simple and straightforward.

Foret welcomes PayPal and Postal Money Order or Cashier's Check.
Money orders deliver more quickly (usually a 4-5 day turnaround when you send your payment asap.) Please send within 48 hours of purchase. MO orders will be cancelled if not received within 5 working days from date of sale. Foret would appreciate a quick message from you when you have sent your payment so we can keep an eye out for it.
Payment is expected upon purchase (C.O.D.) Once the transaction is completed, the sale is final. Foret reserves the right to cancel an order and/or refuse service to anyone at Foret's discretion.
If you wish to reserve an item, I am happy to list your selection as RESERVED just for you and send you the link. Your selection(s) will be reserved for 24 hours only.
Domestic US Customers- your purchase will be shipped via USPS First Class [USPS Priority if the item/purchase is too large or fragile for a padded mailer] with delivery confirmation and full insurance on all items. Orders with multiple items are automatically upgraded to USPS Priority shipping. You will be sent tracking information when your order is shipped.
International Customers- Due to physical limitations, Foret is only shipping to domestic US customers. We will, however, consider requests from international customers to certain countries. There is a surcharge of $10.00 over the cost of shipping and insurance on any international order.
All items are packaged as securely and safely (and beautifully!) as possible. Any order can be upgraded to Priority or Express on request. Fees apply.
Refunds and Exchanges
If you are unhappy with any of your purchases for any reason, please contact me *before* leaving feedback! I want all of my customers to be happy customers.
Any item can be exchanged for a shop credit within three (3) days of receipt. The item must be in perfect condition and shipped insured with a delivery confirmation. A 15% restocking fee will be applied to the exchange.
Damage and loss are covered by the shipping policies above. Due to the one-of-a-kind nature of our inventory, all items are fully insured. If the insurance is waived, Foret cannot be held responsible for damages and loss.
I take very good photographs of my work. If you need more information on a piece, please contact me before purchasing. I am happy to provide more photographs, measurements, etc. According to feedback over the years, the items you purchase from Foret will exceed expectations.
Additional Policies and FAQs
Contact me with any special requests or questions. I am here to serve you. I love custom orders, and I can even incorporate some of your own components for a truly custom piece of wearable art.
On all custom requests and orders, I like to have a dialogue with you so you will be getting exactly what you want. I will reply with suggestions and fees, then reserve your order after we have reached an accord. A minimum non-refundable down payment of 50% is required on all custom orders.
Here are the rules:
1- You may layaway multiple items and shipping/insurance will be condensed at the end in the final layaway payment.
2- Just message me with your selection(s) and we can get started!
3- Established customers, please use your coupon code by messaging me so I can factor it into the price. Large orders are eligible for the discount as well even if you are a first time buyer at Foret.
4- One unique listing is created for multiple item orders and the layaway items are simply marked “layaway reserved for ______” Upon final payment and shipping, those listings are deleted.
5- For layaway of a single item, all of the down payment and layaway payments will originate from that listing which is relisted for each payment.
6- A non-refundable 20% down payment is required.
7- $7 to $20 non-refundable service charge to cover bookkeeping, listing fees, commissions etc is added to your down payment. This fee is based on the item’s value and the payment schedule. See below for the breakdown.*
8- After the initial down payment and service charge, you have a choice of 3-6 equally divided payments scheduled to be due every two weeks, the last of which will include the shipping/insurance fee. This spreads the payments out to suit your needs.
9- A “reserved for” listing, which is based on your initial layaway listing, for each subsequent payment will be created 5 days in advance of the due date for your payment, and you will be sent the link via the Etsy messaging system. The listing will include the ‘due by’ date. So keep an eye on your email!
10- You will also be sent a reminder the day before the due date which includes the link to your selection(s).
11- If you choose to make your payment early, the next payment listing will be based on two weeks from the date of that payment.
12- You may opt to make a balloon payment anytime. Just contact me for the total and I will create the listing and send you the link.
13- Unless you make prior arrangements to extend your payment schedule (some fees may apply), accounts which are three days late will get one (1) reminder before the order is cancelled and the item(s) returned to inventory.
14- There are no refunds on layaway payments.
15- On cancelled orders, you will be issued a shop credit for the full amount of down payment and layaway payments paid. The service charge is non-refundable and will not be included in your shop credit.
16- Your shop credit expires six (6) months from the time of your last payment.
17- To redeem your shop credit, select an item or items which are equal to your credit. Shipping charges will be applied if the total is under in proportion to the grand total.
Here is an example of a simple, one item layaway on a three payment schedule after the down payment:
Item value- $50.00 plus shipping/insurance
Payment 1- $17.00 (20% plus $7 service charge)
Payments 2 and 3- $13.33 each
Payment 4- $17.58 ($13.33 plus $4.25 shipping/insurance)
*FYI, Foret sustains an average of $1.60 in fees and commissions on each of the four payments on this $50 item. On more expensive items, the fees and commissions are considerably higher.
