Ik werd gesmeed in fictie...
I was Forged In Fiction...
Al op zeer jonge leeftijd ontdekte ik dat ik veel meer van fictie hield dan van de werkelijkheid. Ik zag Star Wars tijdens de drive in theater. Ik zag ook Journey to the Center of the Earth en Tarzan the Ape Man. Ik was verslaafd! Toen ik de herhalingen van Star Trek en Battlestar Galactica zag, besloot ik dat Science Fiction iets voor mij was!
Gaandeweg raakte ik geïnteresseerd in maliënkolder. In 1986 of 1987 pakte ik alle kleerhangers uit mijn kast, trok ze recht, wikkelde ze rond een kruiskopschroevendraaier en gebruikte een kniptang om de schakels door te knippen. Van die schakels heb ik een volledig hemd van maliënkolder gemaakt. Ik verkocht dat shirt slechts enkele dagen nadat ik het had gemaakt.
Sinds mijn jeugd heb ik verkocht op Renaissance-beurzen en ambachtsbeurzen. Ik reisde door de hele VS. Nu, als volwassene, heb ik mij gevestigd in de Ozark Mountains. Een paar jaar geleden begon ik met het verzamelen van het speelgoed dat ik als kind had (en niet had). Bij veel speelgoed ontbraken de accessoires of de accessoires waren te duur. Dat zette mij aan het denken...
Ik besloot dat het voor mij het beste was om 3D-printen te leren, zodat ik mijn eigen accessoires kon maken. Zo begon mijn nieuwe hobby. Ik maak voornamelijk vintage Star Wars-accessoires, maar ik ben me gaan verdiepen in andere thema's. Wie weet wat het volgende is, de lucht is letterlijk beperkt.

Watching Star Trek re-runs and Battlestar Galactica I decided that Science Fiction was right up my alley!
Along the way I got interested in chainmaille. In 1986 or 1987 I took all the coat hangers from my closet and straightened them and wound them around a Phillips screwdriver and used end nippers to cut links. I fashioned those links into a full shirt of chainmaille. I sold that shirt only days after I had made it.
Since my youth I have sold at Renaissance Fairs and Craft shows. I traveled all across the US. Now, as an adult, I have settled down in the Ozark Mountains. A few years ago I started collection the toys I had (and didn't have) as a child. Many of the toys lacked their accessories or the accessories were too expensive. That got me thinking...
I decided the best thing for me to do was to learn 3D printing so that I could craft my own accessories. Thus began my new Hobby. Primarily I make Vintage Star Wars accessories but have started branching out into other themes. Who knows what is next, the sky is literally limit.
