About Fortlandic
Empowering Women Entrepreneur Workshop (EW)²-“All you knit is love”
We are a small family-owned business. I and my husband manage our online store here in the USA. We are the backbone of our company and basically share all the responsibilities. We are from Nepal and so are our products. All the products are hand knitted in Nepal by women especially mothers who knit them at home after completing their household responsibilities to earn a supplemental income to support the family.
Our products are individually made with 100% sheep wool and lined with fleece for warmth and comfort. They are stylish, fashion-forward, and yet very comfortable and functional that you would want to share with your loved ones.
The process starts with a design idea and collaboration with the artisans (also knitting trainers) from Nepal to finalize and get their expertise. Once the unique pattern and colors are finalized the knitters are trained if needed. We provide them with the raw material needed to complete the finished products which are not only beautiful but each one is unique.
Khumbu Foundation is a nonprofit organization registered in the State of Colorado that supports Women's Empowerment in Nepal. And through this foundation, we provide a knitting training session to women with low income. After completing the training and depending upon their expertise, they are provided with knitting jobs. The byproduct of that is what we import here in the US and sell online.
