Hi! I'm the dyer behind Foster's Fibers. I have a career in chemistry R&D and a love for fiber that has blended together to make my yarn dyeing business! I love knitting, backpacking, and spending time at home with my boyfriend and our two cats.

Frequently asked questions

Will my yarn bleed?

Every effort is taken to ensure the dyes are set in the yarn, including a final wash in cool water. However, some colors such as bright blues, reds, and pinks may bleed a little during their first wash. To properly care for your finished object, please hand wash in cold water with a gentle detergent and lay flat to dry.

Where are your bases sourced from?

My yarn comes from ranches and farms in South America that are mulesing free. It comes from suppliers that are environmentally conscious and who value and prioritize good animal husbandry practices. They appreciate both the animals and humans involved in their processes and do the least harm to the environment as possible.

Is your superwash yarn eco friendly?

Yes! All my superwash bases, except for SW Worsted Twist, are treated with an eco friendly process called the Kroy method. It is better for the environment than the traditional Hercosett process because it does not produce any hazardous waste. I am continually looking for more eco-friendly bases and processes.
