Hi, welcome to our online shop "FOUTAZ" . We are a group of young tunisian living in florida and Tunisia (north africa) and we believe in spreading the joy from Africa to the world. Foutaz was originally inspired by our routine life in Tunisia. For us, it was very important to restore the value of these local products by our artisans who make every piece from local material in small workshops in Tunisia. Our products are made by artisans who have centuries of great weaving knowledge, and experience passed on from a generation to another.
So we thought about bringing all these treasures that we so lucky to come across in my trips to Tunisia, back to florida and the rest of the world to enjoy too, but also help local communities and artisans develop more income too.
Our name FOUTAZ was inspired from the word "FOUTA"
Tunisia is a treasure trove of ancient empires and was once the heartland of Roman Africa. As such the ‘Roman bath’ became an integral part of Tunisian life and with that came the birth of the "Fouta".
We invite you through our shop to familiarize yourself with the use of the Fouta towel,basket/tote/purse and the tunisian carpet.
