A dream turned into a reality.

I never thought I would have followed my dream in becoming an artist. I always told myself that I wanted to be one but as I got older I started to lose hope. It wasn't until my Sophomore year in college when I switched my major to Art that I realized my dream was coming true.

I wanted to be a graphic designer but quickly changed my mind when I took an intro class to printmaking. I fell in love with the medium because of all the different processes and techniques. Woodcut reliefs is what got me hooked and I've never stopped since.

When I graduated in 2013 I knew there was a possibility of me loosing access to campus materials and equipment so I took it upon myself to save up for an etching press. I had put together a "blueprint" of what I wanted my workstation to look like before the etching press arrived. It came to life with the help of my stepfather and his brothers.

It took me a few months to acquire everything but my spare bedroom in a 2 bedroom apartment works out nicely, don't you think? The only thing that I hate is the climate! Too much humidity in Mississippi!

I do my best stay in the print shop but having a full-time job keeps me from creating as much as I would like to at the moment. My dream came true and I'm lucky to have a family that supports me and a wonderful wife that's been by my side since day one.
