A Creative Soul
I initially joined Etsy in 2007 to buy a few gifts, but made it one of my goals for 2009 to start a shop and list some of my own photography. The first week of January '09, I did that. A few days later, I made my first sale.
I've always been a creative person. Whether making strange cat sculptures in grade school, playing music, decorating my apartment, or taking photos. I have been using photography as a creative outlet for many years and up until 2006, shot only film. In 2006, I bought a small digital camera and found being able to carry it around with me everywhere changed my view of what was around me. I started to look at most things I saw as a potential photograph and became obsessed.
In 2007, I discovered a medium format film camera called a Holga and found the soft focus, vignetting and sometimes unpredictable results very appealing. I found the camera that could create the kind of photographs I wanted to make. It was the camera I used most for the next few years.
A couple of years ago, one of my photographs from a collection called "Say Hello to my Little Friends" was used as the cover of a book of short stories. The photo is part of a larger series of long exposure photographs of small dolls and figurines that I shot with a Holga camera and a macro lens, using vivid color polaroid film. I have a few images from the collection here on Etsy, but the rest of the series, as well as the majority of my online photography portfolio can be viewed at www.marilowery.com
My work took a different direction a few years ago, when I started to do more photoshop work, altering antique portraits. Now I do much more paper collage and mixed media work than photography. I also have another shop for these works here on Etsy at frighten.etsy.com.
Thanks for looking and I hope you find something in my work that you like.

International orders are sent first class. Please keep in mind that the customs forms are marked for exactly the price of the order. Any additional customs fees or taxes are the responsibility of the buyer. If you would like me to add insurance, please let me know.
I normally ship on Tuesday and Friday, barring any kind of holiday post office closings or personal issues. If you need your order shipped sooner than that, please let me know and I'll try to accommodate. Most prints mailed within the U.S. arrive within one week, but out of country shipments can take two to three weeks or longer.
Refunds and Exchanges
In the case of prints not received, I will ask that you give the order three weeks to arrive, and six weeks for international. If after that time, your print is not received, if I'm not able to verify that it arrived via delivery confirmation, I will replace the print/s.
In the case of prints damaged during shipment, in most cases, I will replace either the print, the mat, or both, depending on the damage.
I don't offer exchanges, but if you are not happy with your prints, please let me know within three days of receiving your order. If the print is shipped back to me within a week of receiving it, in resalable condition, your full payment will be refunded. Buyer pays for return shipping.

For those with allergies, prints come from a smoke-free home, but I do have a cat.
