Updates

I’m upgrading to one-way locking snaps on Indy style whip holders. Very nice snaps that only open from one direction so they’re much less likely to accidentally pop open.

Frequently asked questions

Do You Accept Returns or Exchanges?

Since most of the work I do is made-to-order and custom sized I, unfortunately, cannot take returns or exchanges. Please take the time to find your correct size when ordering and don't hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions regarding sizing or other details about a product or order and I'll do my best to make sure you know exactly what your'e getting. Thanks for understanding.

How long until my order ships?

Most items are custom made to order. That means production times can vary based on backorders, stock, and how much time I have in the workshop. I try to ship belts within 2 weeks of order and smaller items quicker. If something is delayed longer than expected I'll likely get in touch to give an update but feel free to contact me if you are concerned about your item not arriving. I can often offer expedited production and shipping if need be. Please inform me early after purchase if you have arrival deadlines so I can adjust accordingly. Once you item ships you'll receive a notification and shipping info through Etsy.

Can I cancel an order?

If you want to cancel an order please get in touch as soon as possible. If I haven't started working on it I'm happy to process a cancellation or change.

How do I care for my new leather item

Generally, you won't need to do anything. I make sure my products are sufficiently conditioned and finished to survive in the wild. Just wipe with a soft cloth if it gets dirty, let it dry out if it gets wet, and buff to restore a polish.

Can You Combine Shipping?

Yes! I'll ship all your items together and then refund you any shipping overages.

What's the deal with "full-grain" leather?

Leather has two sides. The rough interior is the flesh side and the outer smooth side is the grain. Full-grain refers to the fact that the grain side of the leather has not been altered or refinished. The grain contains the densest fibers and is thus the strongest part of the leather and the most desirable (in many circumstances) to work with and use. The grain side is also the outer layer of skin on an animal and will not be completely uniform. It can have small scars, scratches, and blemishes that give a unique look to each piece.

Full grain, however, is not synonymous with high quality. There are many grades and manufacturers of leather. Though I use mostly full grain leather, I try to use the best leather possible for each product.

"Free" shipping and Etsy

Etsy now places priority on items with "free" shipping. Though some of my products now have free domestic shipping, in the interest of transparency I have not added free shipping to certain items with irregular or otherwise awkward shipping costs. I want my customers to see and understand their shipping costs and options as best as possible.

Weathering Your Leather

If you want that worn-down, lived-in look to your leather you can try any or all of these techniques.

To darken leather, leave it out in the sun or apply a light coat of oil (neatsfoot oil, leather oil, or even olive oil).

To soften leather and give it a slightly wrinkled look, roll it over itself front and back while applying slight pressure.

To take the finish off hardware or the surface of the leather, rub with some fine steel wool or high grit (400-2000) sandpaper.

You can mold your leather holster by giving it a quick dip in room temperature water and then carefully form it. Just make sure it dries completely before regular use. DO NOT expose leather to hot water as it may shrink and harder.
