Nuestra historia: de casa a autocaravana y a HOGAR
Our Story - From House, to Camper, to HOME
En 2017, la vida iba deprisa y no iba por buen camino. Estábamos ahogados en deudas, trabajando constantemente para sobrevivir y sintiendo el peso de un estilo de vida que nos dejaba poco tiempo y espacio para disfrutar de las sencillas alegrías de la familia y el hogar. Fue entonces cuando Dylan y yo, con nuestros dos hijos pequeños, decidimos arriesgarnos y crear algo completamente diferente.
Vendimos nuestra casa, compramos una caravana y nos mudamos a un terreno de unos amigos, sin depender de la red eléctrica. Fue una decisión audaz que nos obligó a vender casi todo lo que teníamos. Empezando desde cero, afrontamos los retos de vivir sin conexión con los brazos abiertos y el corazón lleno de esperanza. Fue duro, humilde y hermoso a la vez.
Después de un año, encontramos el terreno que se convertiría en nuestro hogar definitivo: 27 acres silvestres y descuidados en Maine, llenos de historia y potencial oculto. Lo que una vez fue una granja en funcionamiento con raíces que se remontan a antes de la Guerra Civil, había estado abandonada hacía mucho tiempo. La casa se había incendiado, pero el granero seguía en pie, apenas visible entre la densa maleza, y los árboles frutales y las plantas perennes susurraban la vida que una vez prosperó allí. Pasamos el año siguiente desbrozando el terreno, construyendo una entrada para autos (sin ninguna experiencia previa) y, poco a poco, creando espacio para que nuestra familia pudiera crecer. Trasladamos nuestra caravana a la propiedad el fin de semana del Día de los Caídos y comenzamos oficialmente la agricultura familiar. Con el tiempo, añadimos recolección de agua de lluvia, una modesta instalación solar y, finalmente, un sueño hecho realidad, un pozo en funcionamiento. El día que el agua brotó del suelo, los hijos de los vecinos corrieron a celebrar con nosotros. Poco después llegó la electricidad, convirtiendo nuestros sistemas, que tanto nos costó conseguir, en algo sostenible y profundamente gratificante. En 2023, tras seis años y medio viviendo prácticamente desconectados de la red eléctrica en una caravana, hicimos una plataforma y pusimos en el terreno una casa móvil de 40 años. Pasamos meses renovándola juntos, y por fin teníamos un verdadero hogar, un lugar que reflejaba todo lo que habíamos construido con nuestras propias manos y corazón.
A lo largo de este viaje, aprendimos más que solo a cultivar nuestra tierra; aprendimos a vivir con más propósito, a trabajar la tierra y a confiar en nosotros mismos y en los demás en el proceso. Lo llamamos nuestra Nueva Vida Fresca, porque en eso se convirtió.
Como parte de ese cambio, también nos volvimos más conscientes de lo que traíamos a casa. Tras luchar por encontrar velas sin fragancias ni tintes sintéticos, empezamos a fabricar las nuestras con cera de abeja 100 % y polvos vegetales naturales. Esa decisión, surgida del deseo de un hogar libre de toxinas, dio origen al pequeño negocio que hoy gestionamos.
Ahora, elaboramos artesanalmente velas de cera de abeja y otros productos creativos en nuestra finca en Maine, cada uno con raíces sencillas, inspirado en la naturaleza y elaborado con esmero. Cada producto refleja el estilo de vida que hemos elegido y los valores que nos guían.
Creemos que una vida construida lentamente, con propósito, es una vida que vale la pena amar.

In 2017, life was moving fast, and not in the right direction. We were drowning in debt, working constantly just to stay afloat, and feeling the weight of a lifestyle that left us with little time or space to enjoy the simple joys of family and home. That’s when we, Dylan and I, with our two young boys, decided to take a leap of faith and create something completely different.
We sold our home, bought a camper, and moved off-grid onto a piece of land owned by friends. It was a bold move, one that required us to sell almost everything we owned. Starting from scratch, we embraced the challenges of off-grid living with open arms and hopeful hearts. It was hard, humbling, and beautiful all at once.
After a year, we found the land that would become our forever home: 27 wild, overgrown acres in Maine, filled with history and hidden potential. Once a working homestead with roots dating back to before the Civil War, it had long since been abandoned. The house had burned down, but the barn still stood, barely visible through dense brush, and fruit trees and perennials whispered of the life that once thrived there. We spent the next year clearing land, building a driveway (with zero past experience), and slowly carving out space for our family to grow. We moved our camper to the property on Memorial Day weekend and officially began homesteading. Over time, we added rainwater collection, a modest solar setup, and eventually, a dream come true, a working well. The day water burst from the ground, neighbors’ kids ran over to celebrate with us. Soon after came electricity, turning our hard-earned systems into something sustainable and deeply fulfilling.In 2023, after 6.5 years of living mostly off-grid in a camper, we poured a pad and placed a 40-year-old mobile home on the land. We spent months renovating it together, and at long last, we had a real home, a place that reflected everything we had built with our own hands and hearts.
Throughout this journey, we were learning more than just how to homestead, we were learning how to live more intentionally, how to work with the land, and how to trust ourselves and each other in the process. We called this our Fresh New Life, because that’s exactly what it became.
As part of that shift, we also became more mindful of what we were bringing into our home. After struggling to find candles without synthetic fragrance or dyes, we started making our own with 100% beeswax and natural plant powders. That decision, born out of a desire for a toxin-free home, sparked the small business we run today.
Now, we handcraft beeswax candles and other creative goods from our homestead in Maine, each one rooted in simplicity, inspired by nature, and made with care. Every product reflects the lifestyle we’ve chosen, and the values that guide us.
We believe that a life built slowly, with purpose, is a life worth loving.
