5 out of 5 starsAs soon as I got my hands on this wonderful zine, I couldn't help but begin to scour its pages for magical insight. With poetic essays, precious drawings, and heartfelt prose, the Swept Away zine makes for an empowering read, connecting the sacred with the mundane, reconnecting with ancestral healing through the craft of clearing, cleansing, and letting go. Much Love & Many Thanks Betania.

5 out of 5 starsOver the moon for this beautiful sacred Broom. Lovingly handcrafted with fine attention to detail the Turkey Wing Broom went above & beyond with its unique natural straw with delicate features of sacred seeds. I can already feel it working its magic within my home, on my altar, and clearing away the cobwebs in my mind. Thank you Betania. You are powerful gifted artist, and I will continue to sing your praises for this delightful little beauty you have bestowed the world.

5 out of 5 starsThis broom is so, so wonderful. You can tell that the maker put love and intention into the making of it. This is the first handmade broom I've used and it works wayyyy better than I expected it would. It really is a wonderful product. Also, it smells absolutely heavenly.

About TortoiseAndTheBear
I begin the broom making process by exploring the hills and forests for wood for the broom sticks: Maple, Serviceberry, Myrtle, Chokecherry, Hazel, and other hardwoods, fit for a lifetime of service.
I cut and cure the choice branches with gratitude and respect for the life of the tree.
I tie my brooms by hand, no machines here! Each is made carefully, with the informed perspective of someone who reveres sweeping as a daily ritual for cleansing the home- both physically, and energetically. As the dust is gathered from the corners of the room, so are the stray thoughts, worries and uncertainties. What better way to cleanse the home than with these beautiful tools carefully made according to traditional methods?
Sleeping in the Forest
---- by Mary Oliver----
I thought the earth remembered me,
she took me back so tenderly,
arranging her dark skirts, her pockets
full of lichens and seeds.
I slept as never before, a stone on the river bed,
nothing between me and the white fire of the stars
but my thoughts, and they floated light as moths
among the branches of the perfect trees.
All night I heard the small kingdoms
breathing around me, the insects,
and the birds who do their work in the darkness.
All night I rose and fell, as if in water,
grappling with a luminous doom. By morning
I had vanished at least a dozen times
into something better.
