I have worked together with my daughter, Sonja Lee-Austin under the name Friends Fabric Art since 2002. Our focus has changed over time as the market and personal circumstances changed. We started with a fabric version of a paint-your-own-pottery shop - a place for people to do fabric related crafts like tie-dyeing a t-shirt or hand painting placemats. Slowly our shop built up a selection of surface design and mixed media art supplies. For a time, selling those supplies became our primary focus. Today our time is spent on creating art rather than on retailing. Ann creates both wearable art—jackets, vest, and scarves--and art for your home--quilts, fabric collages and sofa pillows. Sonja's emphasis is mixed-media fabric art (and devising creative art projects for her three-year-old son).
