About

Jewelry and miniatures for the sophisticated foodie.

The Frippery Factory was born to bring your love of food into the rest of your life.

Each piece of miniature food is sculpted by hand from polymer clay, a Play Doh-like substance that cures in the oven.

Contrary to what you might think, creating a miniature sculpture of food isn't just "shrinking it down." I start by researching the real food, often reading recipes so that I can assemble the dish in the proper order. I custom-mix clay to mimic the juicy translucence of peaches, and I dust loaves of bread with chalk for a crusty, just-baked look. Before plating a dish, I'll sketch five or ten different layout options before choosing the one that looks best. Once your piece of mini food has undergone its final baking and glazing, it's a piece of art--not a miniaturized version of a real dish.

At the Frippery Factory, we put our best effort in at every step of the creative journey, from that first product concept to packaging and mailing a purchased item. We love what we make, how we make it, and how we sell it, and we want you to as well.

Our products will vary because they are made without molds, but that's part of what makes each piece unique.

Accepted payment methods

  • Pay with Visa
  • Pay with Master Card
  • Pay with American Express
  • Pay with Discover
  • Pay with PayPal
  • Other Method
Payment
We accept PayPal for your convenience. Payment is required upon purchase of any items, unless we've arranged something first. This makes it easier for us (not having to hound people for their money, which nobody likes to do) and it makes it easier for you (no trying to remember when you have to send that payment by).

If you need a little longer than "instant payment" for your order, please get in contact with us before you order. We'll be happy to wait if you need!

Finally, please note that no order will be shipped before payment is received.
Shipping
We will ship your purchases via USPS. All items will go First Class, unless you make prior arrangements.

If you order more than one item, they will be packaged together to save you shipping costs. We recommend insuring orders over $100.

Buyers outside the US, please note that I am not responsible for customs fees or lost/damaged packages shipped via First Class Mail. If you're concerned about your package, please contact me about insurance or a shipping service upgrade.

All of our products will ship in ten business days of your purchase (although, to be frank, they usually go out earlier). We will notify you when your package ships.
Refunds and Exchanges
If your package arrives broken, never fear: we’ll take action! Send the package back to us (we provide a return address on every mailing) and we’ll send you a new item, and refund any shipping costs you may incur via PayPal. We’ll pay for the shipping the second time around too. If you’d rather have a gift certificate, you can send your order back, and we’ll get you a gift card for the shop.

We do not refund or recreate undamaged items. Be sure to read each item description carefully before ordering, and don’t hesitate to get in contact with us if you’re confused about something. Again, please note that I am not responsible for any replacements for lost international orders shipped via First Class Mail.
