Sempre coletei casas vintage e itens vivos. Adoro exibir, usar e reutilizar utensílios domésticos bem feitos e projetados. Eu gosto de colocar objetos lindos, às vezes funky decoração casa aqui e ali em toda a minha casa. Eu mudo e os movo com frequência. Ao fazer isso, minha casa se sente única, e melhor representa meus interesses e gosto em constante mudança. Descobri como é fácil mudar de quarto adicionando e subtraindo alguns objetos bem escolhidos de vez em quando.

Eu moro no ensolarado sul da Flórida, a terra dos "transplantes", onde vintage acha que é caminho de todo o país. Se há um tema comum é meados do século. Pense em Miami Beach. Aqui há muitas vendas de quintal, brechós, vendas de elefantes brancos da igreja e vendas de propriedades (quando estou me sentindo corado). E não há nada melhor do que uma mini viagem espontânea para upper keys para procurar meus achados favoritos - vintage artesanal. Eu também adoro ir a leilões nas Redlands. É muito divertido ser tanto comprador quanto vendedor na emoção onde centenas de itens estão em licitação. Ah, e há também os mercados de pulgas antigas e vintage à direita em Miami Beach, durante os meses de inverno, a melhor época do ano do sul da Flórida.


Meus objetos coletados abrangem a gama de tecidos irresistíveis, wallhangings, livros, efêmeros, joias, souvenirs, colecionáveis e "coisas bonitas". Eu tenho caixas - eu admito - de deliciosos kitsch vintage 50's e 60's enfeites de Natal no meu sótão superfampado. Só o tempo me limita a encher minhas prateleiras de loja com as centenas de achados úteis e peculiares que coletei ao longo dos anos, às vezes encontro objetos encontrados de décadas que deveriam ser descartados, mas que cuidadosamente (e alguns não tão perfeitamente) foram preservados.

I have always collected vintage home and living items. I love to display, use, and repurpose well made and designed housewares. I enjoy putting beautiful, sometimes funky home decor objects here and there throughout my home. I change and move them around frequently. By doing this my home feels unique, and best represents my ever-changing interests and taste. I have discovered how easy it is to change a room by adding and subtracting a few well-chosen objects now and then.

I live in sunny South Florida, the land of “transplants’, where vintage finds it’s way from all over the country. If there is one common theme it is mid-century. Think Miami Beach. Here there are lots of yard sales, thrift stores, church White Elephant Sales, and Estate Sales (when I am feeling flush). And there is nothing better than a spontaneous mini road trip to the Upper Keys to look for my favorite finds - handmade vintage. I also love to go to auctions in the Redlands. It is great fun to be both a buyer and seller in the excitement where hundreds of items are up for bidding. Oh, and there is also the antique and vintage flea markets on right on Miami Beach itself, during the winter months, South Florida’s best time of the year.


My collected objects span the range of irresistible fabrics, wallhangings, books, ephemera, jewelry, souvenirs, collectibles, and shabby “pretty things”. I have boxes - I admit it - of delightful kitsch vintage 50’s and 60’s Christmas ornaments in my overstuffed attic. Only time limits me from filling my shop shelves with the hundreds of useful and quirky finds I have collected over the years, I sometimes find decades-old found objects that were meant to be discarded but have carefully (and some not-so-perfectly) been preserved.
