Interestingly I've recently come into a huge stash of 10 cent comic books, many by Carl Barks, who resides in the rarified air of the best of the best of the best. I am selling these along with my own collection. I'm a little nuts about comids. Go figure.

This began as an antique, photography studio, underground comic retail location, roach clip emporiaum and candle shop in Sonoma Ca. in 1972. Freshly discharged from the Navy a friend and I had discovered the only place for rent was a 2nd story shop with living quarters in the back rooms. We quickly made a nuisance of ourselves as our neighbor Mrs Wahlin will attest.

This candle business quickly became an exploration of the possibilities of paraffin wax in its various states. At the proper temperature it can be rolled up, twisted and even kneaded and pulled into various shapes. It is really remarkable stuff. The outer surface of a kneaded piece forms a skin around a softer interior such that one can pull a finger off a ball of wax just by pulling it out, indeed, the entire hand that way. Ditto the head, legs, feet, ears and tail. By golly you can make 3D cartoons our out of this stuff so we did and convinced others to do the same till there were some ten of us traveling about to art shows selling frogs eating fly and ant pizza, snakes on a beer can and dogs licking their private. Can fame be far behind? Yes it can, quite a ways in fact. None of us have figured a way around that yet.
