About

alchemy - a seemingly magical process of transformation, creation, or combination.

I began creating in 2012, as a creative outlet and respite from combat oriented PTSD. I had joined the Marine Corps before going to college, and after spending a year in Fallujah, Iraq, running supply convoys and living with daily rocket and mortar attacks, my normally inspired creative juices were pretty dried up, buried under the weight of combat stress, anxiety, and a myriad of painful disorders. I was a shadow of my self when I went to college, and the intense process of digging in and finding my old spark felt much like the process of forging a piece of jewelry; messy, sometimes painful, sometimes difficult to see the end result through the mistakes and the unexpected. With a BFA under my belt and a helplessly fantastical view of the world, I would create web advertisements by day and sit hunched over crystals, gemstones, old tribal findings and looped kuchi coins at night, stringing together what felt like mini dreams of what the world should be like, but never is.

Four years later, I solder, smith, fabricate, set stones, electro-form and fuse together those dreams, still. Alchemie is hand-forged, esoterically inspired adornment and art-to wear, built from ideas, prayers, and hopes, that the world may one day reflect the inner vision of peace and love that we all share, regardless of our differences. Made from alloys, silver, gold, stone, bone, gems, jewels, and imagination, an Alchemie piece is truly a unique investment, one that will last through the years...and hopefully one that you'll treasure as much as I did while creating it.

In love,
Katie

Shipping
I insure every package. This is part of the shipping fee you're paying and is non-negotiable.

USA CUSTOMERS: I send via USPS First-Class Mail, to keep your shipping costs down; if you require your item faster, please contact me before you purchase and I can arrange to overnight it or use faster shipping at cost to you.

INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS: To keep your shipping costs down, I ship First Class International Mail, which can take 7-14 days if you live outside of the United States. Sometimes Customs likes to hold on to things for a few days, so it may take a little longer to get to you. This is a natural part of international shipping and not something I can control. If you want faster shipping, contact me before you purchase and I can adjust shipping costs for you based off of Priority or Express mail pricing.

Note that if your country charges VAT or other import taxes that those are your responsibility to pay and not under my control.
Refunds and Exchanges
Unfortunately I do not accept returns on items once they've been received.

If you have a defective issue with an item you've purchased, you have 2 days from the day you receive your item to send me a photo of the issue, and we'll handle the refund/return from there.

Jewelry is not invincible! While I completely stand behind the belief that you are getting the best materials and workmanship I can provide, if you are hard on your items there's a chance that they will break. Yanking, pulling, trying to manually resize things, or otherwise attempting to alter a piece in a way it wasn't meant to be altered may result in the piece coming apart. I encourage you to contact me before your item is shipped and let me know about any size adjustments that you may want for your piece, or concerns you may have in general, so that I can address them with my intimate knowledge of how the piece is put together before I send it off to you. Don't be shy!

Please feel free to contact me about anything in regards to your item. I care about you absolutely loving your purchase and will answer any questions or work to fix any issue.
Additional policies and FAQs
I just had a baby, which is very exciting! That being said, at this time, I am not doing custom orders. My timeline/schedule is too unreliable for me to feel comfortable getting work to you in a timely manner. <3 Please feel free to peruse my pre-made items and I hope you can find something that you love!
