¡Hola! Soy Gemma, la persona detrás de GEC Paratech.
Siempre me ha fascinado lo paranormal, no solo lo que podemos experimentar durante una investigación, sino también la historia y las leyendas que se esconden tras los lugares que visitamos. Mis aventuras de caza de fantasmas me llevan principalmente por el noroeste de Inglaterra, aunque también hago viajes a lugares más lejanos como Shrewsbury y Gales.
GEC Paratech comenzó con una investigación memorable. Estaba usando una caja de música de espíritus por primera vez, y cada vez que se activaba su sensor, sonaba música. Se convirtió en uno de los momentos más destacados de la noche, y al volver a casa quise tener una igual.
Entonces vi los precios: ¡algunos superaban las 300 libras! Eso me hizo pensar: ¿podría hacer uno yo mismo?
Siempre me ha encantado crear cosas, y mi padre me enseñó algunas habilidades prácticas muy útiles durante mi infancia. Con esos conocimientos y mucha curiosidad, construí mi primera caja de música. Después de probarla y ver cuánto la disfrutaban otros investigadores, una idea se convirtió en un negocio.
Desde entonces, la gama se ha ampliado para incluir dispositivos SpiritChat, coches con sensor de movimiento, muñecos REM, detectores de campo estático y mucho más. Mi objetivo sigue siendo el mismo: crear equipos interesantes y asequibles que me entusiasmen para mis propias investigaciones.
Desde su lanzamiento, GEC Paratech ha crecido hasta atender a miles de clientes satisfechos en todo el mundo. Saber que algo que comencé en casa ahora forma parte de investigaciones internacionales significa muchísimo para mí. Cada pedido, recomendación y experiencia compartida ha contribuido a que esto sea posible.
Y sí, soy una mujer que diseña y construye aparatos electrónicos, ¡y estoy orgullosa de ello!

Hi, I’m Gemma, the person behind GEC Paratech!
I’ve always been fascinated by the paranormal—not just what we might experience during an investigation, but the history and stories behind the places we visit. My ghost hunting adventures mainly take me across the North West of England, with trips further afield to places such as Shrewsbury and Wales.
GEC Paratech began with one memorable investigation. I was using a spirit music box for the first time, and whenever its sensor triggered, music played. It became a real highlight of the evening, and I came home wanting one of my own.
Then I saw the prices—some were over £300! That got me thinking: could I make one myself?
I’ve always loved making things, and my dad taught me some incredibly useful practical skills growing up. With those foundations and plenty of curiosity, I built my first music box. After testing it and seeing how much other investigators enjoyed using it, an idea became a business.
Since then, the range has grown to include SpiritChat devices, motion-triggered cars, REM dolls, static field detectors and much more. My aim remains the same: to create interesting, affordable equipment that I’m excited to take on my own investigations.
Since launching, GEC Paratech has grown to serve thousands of happy customers worldwide. Knowing that something I started at home is now part of investigations around the world means so much to me. Every order, recommendation and shared experience has helped make that possible.
And yes, I’m a woman who designs and builds electronics—and proud of it!
