Announcement All of my items are made from recycled stainless flatware (forks, spoons, knives). I select pieces for each creation and cut them, shape them and weld them into the items you see on this page. No two are exactly alike. Each creation has it's own character. Enjoy your browsing and know that when you buy one of these creations that they are solidly welded and will last for generations. Thank You.

Re-use of Misdirected Flatware
I started welding together some thrown out stainless flatware for my family and friends. The first was a dragonfly from butter knives, then came hummingbirds, daisies, roses and my sister's request for Don Quixote. People said I should sell my stuff, so I started buying used flatware from flea markets and tag sales. I picked out pieces that were high quality, attractive and not too badly marred. I've recycled stainless flatware from makers such as ONEIDA, WM. A. ROGERS, LENOX, Reed & Barton, Mikasa, WALLACE, Hampton and Towle just to name a few. I imagine a project then go through my collection of flatware to find just the right combination to create my art. Some things take days, and some hours, to complete. If I have a set of flatware that works for a certain project, then I can make more than one of something ... Like dragonflies or praying mantises. Roses are a little tougher, because they take 3 different size spoons and four of each size. A praying mantis takes six forks for the legs alone. I spend a lot of time sorting though flatware, but I love getting to a finished product and everyone seems to love them. I do special requests too, like frogs and turtles. At first I wasn't painting and my wife suggested that I needed some color, so I started painting a few pieces. All of my pieces are TIG welded with stainless steel rod for a very strong bond. These items will last outdoors for a long long time. Enjoy browsing my shop. You can see more of the projects I'm working on at http://www.facebook.com/ForkArt. Thanks.

Owner, Maker, Designer
I've been welding for over 30 years now, specializing in stainless steel and just within the last year got inspiration from tossed out flatware and my daughter's love of dragonflies and created a dragonfly for her from a few butter knives.
I use only stainless steel flatware and handpick all of it for suitability for my projects ... looking for unique designs and quality in each piece. I do not buy new, only used or discarded flatware, therefore there may be evidence of wear and tear. Every item I make is unique in its' own way and wire brushed for a uniform finish and clearcoated or painted.

Also, remember my sculptures are made from spoons, forks and knives and are not meant for children ... there will be sharp edges and points, though I do try to dull some of them down.
