About

Craft shows to Retail to ecommerce

In the early 1990's I started the business called Golden Threads Imports Inc doing various trade shows to see if there was a market for needlework supplies. The retail shop became a dream when I opened in March 1997 until it closed in June 2009. The problem with renting is that there is uncertainty whether or not the premises will continue to be available.

With the help of a techie company created a shopping cart for on-line orders at http://www.gthreads.com.

The vast majority of these thread art pieces are framed. However there are ones which have been lovingly hand stitched and are waiting to be finished either through framing or being used in other DIY projects.

To find a wider audience, joined Etsy in 2010 with GThreads and GoldenThreadSupplies.

Also on Twitter and Facebook as a business account.

Golden Threads was formerly a brick and mortar store selling needlework supplies. With the closing of the store, there are over 200 stitched pieces for sale ranging from the tiny (5" x 7") to the large (53" x 10")in various categories and themes. There is a wee bit of wear as these were displayed throughout the store.

Lay Away Plan:
During these difficult economic times, we have decided to offer our "Lay Away Plan" for those higher priced items over $100 in our shop.

Please contact us (http://www.etsy.com/convo_new.php?to_username=GThreads ) for further instructions on how to take advantage of this offer prior to clicking "commit to buy" in your shopping cart.

On the Layaway Plan, we will set aside the items in your order until it has been paid-in-full then ship your items to you at the time of your last payment. Should you change your mind about your order any time along the payment process, your previous payments are not refundable but the amount you've paid can be used towards the purchase of another item in our shop.

Layaway Payment Requirements: You must pay up to 25% of your original order's total each month. (Example; if you buy a picture for $100 means you'll then pay $25 each month.) You pay the first 25% up front and we will send you PayPal invoices via e-mail each month for all subsequent payments. Please be sure to pay this invoice within a week of it being sent to you or your layaway will be cancelled out. (Don't worry, we'll send you a couple of reminders near the end of the week as well in case you missed the invoice the first time it was sent.)

If you ever want to pay more than 25% at any time, just let us know!
