How I Became a Pattern Author
When I got my Nook eReader, none of the covers on the market were fun! I wanted a unique cover that would protect my new device. After making a few, everyone loved them so I opened an Etsy shop to start selling the covers. While a few sold here and there, they weren't flying off the shelf. In looking at other Etsy shops, I discovered that PDF Pattern instructions seemed to be doing well so I decided to share my construction methods with you, the Etsy creative community. The patterns began selling well, so I designed more variations on the original pattern. Once I sold enough to buy an iPad, I did so, and of course needed covers for the iPad. I currently sell patterns on Etsy, Craftsy.com and several other websites. I have far more pattern ideas than time, but am adding new patterns on a regular basis.
