Elegantly simple from afar, but with beautifully nuanced brushstrokes up close, this artwork also finds energy in the way it begins to tell a story, but leaves it up to the viewer to finish that story. A lovely balancing act.

Up Yonder

When I was six years old, I decided I'd climb the tall pine tree in our backyard. When I got to the top, sitting on a branch, I was excited to be as high as the birds and able to see how vast the land was. Then suddenly, the branch broke. And I fell, still in sitting position, to the next branch which also broke. Finally, the third one stopped my downward motion.

That one incident didn't stop me from climbing more trees or exploring. I was constantly testing my Mother's nerves. Thank you Mom for all your patience. And thank you Mom and Dad for supporting my dreams.

I realize daily that my world is bigger than I can ever see from where I stand.

The adventure and inspiration are there and all it takes is just one step and an open heart.
