How GG got its name..

It all started one whimsical day in May of 2009, while Natasha was home visiting here parents in the countryside. Sometimes you have to get creative in order to entertain yourself in the midwest, so she decided to start crafting some jewelry. The first materials came from the workshop in her father's garage, hence "garage." Natasha's heritage is also half Hungarian, and is known for her urges to travel and explore the world, that is where "gypsy" came into play. It was then that the Garage Gypsy was born.

Each piece of jewelry is carefully designed and crafted with a delicate hand. Mixing elegance with nature's unpredictability and a modern fusion of geometric pop rock. Garage Gypsy strives on detail and invention; veering from the corporate-driven world and the masses that follow. I try to encompass on that poetic beauty found in nature, paring it with the glamour of our modern-day concrete jungle. Embracing chic sophistication, but allowing those meticulous flaws as they are the characteristics of originality and true beauty. It is my belief that jewelry should express the inner spirit of it's wearer in a manner that evokes confidence, emotion, and conversation...allowing you to think about your surroundings and your very being.

Myself: Born and raised an hour outside of Chicago, I moved west to Los Angeles at a young age in pursuit of a dream. Not only was LA a place of opportunity, but a dwelling of inspiration and artistic energy. As a natural born fashionista, I was determined to find my niche in the world of design. Although I had been crafting, sewing and making jewelry since elementary school, it was a passion that went unnoticed. After advancing through jobs in the film industry's costume department and learning the ropes of business as an a/p manager, I found myself doing product photography and website maintenance for a local furniture store; all of which were building blocks that would lead me to my current endeavor. It wasn't long after the lightbulb popped that I turned my passion for inventing unique pieces of jewelry into a business. For me, jewelry is a medium that allows me to share my creative passion and influence the world of fashion through my "works of art." I believe strongly in individuality and the invention of one’s self. All of my designs are a one of kind, just as you are. Garage Gypsy Jewerlry is made to last fifty years not just fifty minutes.

I have 3 blogs which have become an outlet for my thoughts, and photography, including fashion, interior design, and healthy recipes. Feel free to follow :)
