About

Addicted to Vintage

I started my little vintage shop when I moved to Portland, OR. I had always gone to garage sales with my mom since I was a kid. I grew a taste for all vintage eras. Having discovered the vintage clothing here in Portland, I couldn't stop buying! I knew someone out there needed these things. I love the hunt the best but also really recognize the need for vintage restoration and care. I firmly believe in recycling and helping the world reduce the piles of garbage we produce. If we can get some use out of an old garment again, we all play a part in reducing our consumption of newly manufactured goods.

I pride myself in buying beautiful vintage in wearable condition. I clean most pieces myself and some go off to my dry cleaner. I want a happy customer first and foremost.

Accepted payment methods

  • Accepts Etsy gift cards
  • Other Method
Payment
Payment due upon purchase through etsy via Paypal. Layaway may be available on some items if you discuss this with me ahead of time. Please email me for details.
Shipping
I ship via usps. I generally ship Priority mail for US orders and First Class for international orders. Please email me before a sale if you wish to use another usps service such as international Priority Mail, add insurance or tracking to an order.

INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS:

Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. These are based on your countries import and duty laws.

I CAN NOT change customs forms to declare low or as a gift. This is illegal and in doing do there is risk of fines to my business and possibly imprisonment. A package declared lower also can not carry full insurance if I choose to put it on. Declaring lower puts both customer and seller at risk.

If an item is returned to us by the post office for any reason, other than our mistake, the purchaser is responsible for the original shipping cost plus any additional shipping cost to resend the order. We will contact the buyer when we receive the item, if the return shipping payment is not received within 15 days of contact the item will be put back up for sale. No refund will be given, purchase price will be forfeit.
Refunds and Exchanges
Items not returnable unless something was greatly misdescribed. (huge stains, long areas of seaming broken, bigger than pinhole size holes) I try very hard to describe everything that comes to my attention. As a buyer, I hope that you can help me share some responsibility an take time to ask all questions, take your measurements and compare them to the garment, etc. As with all vintage, it will never look like a brand new garment. Please be forgiving for minor flaws as I am sure most vintage lovers are. I take lots of time looking over an item so I do find most flaws. I spend at least an hour on each garment between washing, drying, steaming and mending. I don't want to give you any unwanted surprises.

Be assured though, I will never sell you something stinky, dirty, badly stained, rotting, excessive holes, and just generally unwearable. I love vintage and take great care and time with each piece that passes through my hands. I do my best picking garments I think have life left in them. I believe very much that people like me need these items to come through their hands for proper restoration and care.

Sometimes I am asked why I don't accept returns? The funny thing with vintage is sometimes people don't check their measurements before buying. Since I am not a store, I can not help assist in the trying on process. Since I am not there when you try on an item, I don't know what care was taken when doing this. Seams and fabric can be stressed if something is improperly tried on. Perspiration can effect a garments condition as well. I have local friends with shops and I see so many improper try -on victis, beautiful garments just treated badly during the try on process. Also, another reason is that with vintage, sometimes people want it as a sort of one day costume. I am not a costume rental. I don't know if you wore it once and then return it to me. Believe it or not, I've had this happen to me but thankfully the buyer was kind enough to dry clean the dress for me, evident in the dry cleaning tag left on it. Sometimes vintage isn't what people who are used to modern clothes are used to. The fabrics feel different, things hang on the body different. If you aren't used to buying vintage you may question what you've just bought. I like to protect myself from buyers remorse as well. Where as a big box store may be able to handle these issues and replace items, have a big budget where they can deal with loss as a seller, as a small one woman show it's not as easy. If something has been mailed there and back, I have to wash, steam or press an item again and photograph it again. This is a lot for a one woman to do when only have the ability to list one item a night due to my family schedule.

I truly believe if buyer and seller come together in honesty, all problems can be worked out so if a problem does arrise with your purchase know I will be more than willing to communicate with you and work things out. I value my customers more than I value vintage clothing. With out customers I wouldn't be selling here on etsy and doing what I love.

Also another note on era, I've a time range on most items and tag them between two eras. (Ie. 1920's-1930's) as there is a lot of cross over in time periods where styles didn't change. Please reserve a 10 year time range either way and be forgiving. I can not date items to an exact year and unfortunately don't have a ton of time to research each piece that extensively. Please don't fail to contact me though if you see a listing you think is misdated.

If you have any questions about an item, don't hesitate to ask. If you want a more elaborate description of condition issues, more photos, help with sizing, I will help you with this no problem.

I like feedback from my customers though so don't hesitate to email me if you need to discuss a problem.

Please also note that any sale items are a final sale under all circumstances. I also reserve the right to a 20% restocking fee if items are returned.
