About

My Inspiration

I enjoy creating awareness of our vanishing prairies. We only have about 4% of our tallgrass prairie left. Creating my jewelry using the different prairie grasses and wildflowers shows people the diversity and the beauty that our prairies offer.

It's my contribution to preserving our environment by bringing about an awareness of the importance of our prairie and other natural resources. I want to teach people to see. Not just to see, but to be one with the land. Capturing that fleeting moment in nature in my jewelry designs is one way I can achieve that goal.

I work primarily as a silversmith using recycled sterling silver to create jewelry pieces that celebrate nature and more specifically the tallgrass prairies of Kansas.

My backyard is the Flint Hills prairie. Nature is my inspiration for almost all of my art, especially my jewelry designs. I'm most happy when I'm outside with nature or working creatively on a project.

Care instructions

All jewelry orders come with a complementary polishing cloth. I use raw metals that will get a patina over time. Using the polishing cloth on the raised surfaces will add more dimension to pieces that do not have a patina applied already.

Storing your jewelry in an air-tight plastic bag can help reduce rate of tarnishing.

Gemstones should not be polished.

Do not wear jewelry while swimming, using hot tub or spa, cleaning with chemicals or other solvents which can damage both metal and gemstones in jewelry.

Use caution with activities that may damage the physical structure of your jewelry or cause excessive wear.
