Handmade objects of glass.
Through the Fire Studios is located in historic downtown Columbia, Pennsylvania. Both Columbia and its sister town across the Susquehanna, Wrightsville, played instrumental roles in days leading up to the Battle of Gettysburg by burning the bridge between them to prevent a Confederate river crossing. Exciting stuff.
Speaking of firing things up…Ttf opened its doors in 2008. Starting with just 2 glass blowers, the studio is now home to multiple artisans of various disciplines including flame workers and painters. In addition to being a working creative space, Through the Fire is also home to a gallery hosting local artists.
Our mission is to provide an environment where artists, students and instructors can explore and develop their artistic visions. This includes spaces for other local artists to create their masterpieces and a gallery area for exhibitions. For those members of the community who want to try their hand at the craft, the studio also offers courses in glass blowing, slumping and glass casting for beginning, intermediate and advanced students.
We also collaborate with designers and artisits and accept commissions for glass installations in residential, retail and commercial spaces.
