I have no memory of not being a creative person. It's a full blown passion filled with thoughts that drive me on until something is made. I'm a graduate from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor in Fine Arts for painting and drawing.

My sewing abilities began at the age of eight. My Aunt Eura was a seamstress and she taught me to make doll clothes. By the age of 10, my parents gifted me with my own sewing machine. From that time on I spent my time creating all sorts of clothing, including hats.

Most of my adult years have been dedicated to my paintings. About eight years ago I decided to invest time learning the art of millinery. The first year I was interested in studying everything I could about making hats, I would soon begin to acquire supplies and moving along full speed ahead. I learned a lot by taking apart vintage hats that I'd purchase just to see how they were made. I am totally self taught.

My company name is Geaux Chapeaux Millinery. Geaux is pronounced 'Go' ... in the souther vernacular ... like, "Geaux Saint!"

I have a beautiful millinery studio that my clients can visit to make their ideas come to life. Often they bring outfits and we work together to create the perfect hat. Each hat is made by me with love. I use the best materials and I take great pride in my workmanship.

There is a 15% additional charge for all custom orders. Please, allow two to three weeks for delivery. If you are in need of an item sooner, we can discuss the possibility of having it before two weeks.
