As Thanksgiving and Christmas are just around the corner, maybe you might see a gift for a loved one or indeed your very own self. I have some lovely reasonably priced prints of my paintings of Salthill Prom on the Shores of Galway Bay and these are available postage free to anywhere in the world. I do have some paintings left from my series of Paintings A Year on the Prom. These can be bought framed or unframed.

I have also added some very new abstract paintings to my shop. I describe my process and explain how they occur. This is an exciting journey for me and I do hope you like them. I am looking forward to adding many more original artwork to my shop over the coming weeks, do keep an eye out. Thank you and many happy wishes to you and all your loved ones for the season.

A Little About the Artist

I am exploring, both in my large canvasses and smaller ones, the rapidly shifting weather patterns and changing light effects and colours that surround me in this beautiful part of the world.

To date the emphasis in my paintings has been on the turbulence in both the sea and sky and the expanses of open space and distant horizons. Now that I have moved to Conamara , I am influenced by the lake and trees and mountains and the vast expanses of wild and untamed scenery.
I am currently exploring a more abstract way of seeing. Using many different media and layering the paint onto boards or canvas and I build up layers without any great plan. I then work on revealing what lies beneath allowing the painting to reveal itself. I am finding images revealed from my memory or personal experience that are very fascinating. Living where I do I am finding the greens, blues, ochres, browns, yellows and reds of Conamara keep appearing in my work. I look forward to posting more of these images in the near future.

I attended the College of Art, GMIT, Galway as a mature student and attained a BA Degree in Fine Art and Print. I have completed the Nicholas Wilton Creative Visionary Program 2021 and am now part of The CVP Alumni Academy. I am a member of Visual Artists Ireland. I work as a fulltime artist in my own studio in Oughterard, Gateway to Conamara.
