About

Where Fiction Comes to Light

I've always been obsessed with fictional worlds. Whether they come in the form of books, movies, or shows - I'm always immersed. On the other hand, creation - making something with my own two hands - is a passion as well. Combining my two great loves was a natural choice, but it wasn't until I received a candle-making kit for my 30th birthday that I found the perfect outlet for my adoration of stories.

I put my heart and imagination into these candles, and I hope their scent profiles and quality reflects that. My ultimate goal is to create scents that you can't find anywhere else, bringing your favorite worlds and characters literally to light.

Currently, my main occupation involves light saber fights, racing miniature vehicles around the house, and doing the potty dance multiple times a day. In between all that adventure, I nurture my obsession with stories, whether it be through reading, writing, or, yes, Netflix binging. All those feelings are put into words, and all those words fit together to create entire worlds, and to me, there's no greater masterpiece.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between a wooden wick and a cotton wick?

A cotton wick is like those you usually see in candles. They are easy to light and easy to maintain. I use an all-natural, cotton wick {no zinc, lead or other metals found in these!} that are coated in beeswax. They are lovely and simple.

Wooden wicks, on the other hand, take a bit more care, but they do offer an ambiance and atmosphere that is a bit different than a run-of-the-mill cotton wick. They crackle like a mini-fireplace! You do need to keep them trimmed at about 1/8 inch in order for them to burn correctly. I include a care card with each wooden wick candle I send out so can get the most out of your wood-wick candle!

How do I care for my wood-wick candle?

Keep the wick trimmed down to 1/8 inch. I have them trimmed for you when I send them out, so you don't have to worry about the first light, but with ever subsequent re-light, make sure it's trimmed! You can use a wick trimmer, or, as I like to do, simply break off the burnt edges before relighting.
